The forum always serves everyone's purpose, except for the original poster.

If you like to hear a lot of emotional whining and tinfoil from people with questionable intelligence it's awesome. Every once in a while a useful thread pops up still though.

It can be if you know what to look for.  There's useful info, there's complaint threads, and

then there is drivel...  Try and look for the useful info and stay away from the rest.

You can dig out forums from Battlefield 1942 and read the same topics.

not really, just full of people who think knows everything and at the first sign of losing an argument turn to insult.

But if you want a chuckle on triggered people this is the place to be

There is a trick about forums. If you make a post asking for help, you will be flamed, trolled, etc, and will usually not get what you came for. However, If you make an assumption, or state your opinion, someone will come here to correct you and "set you straight".

My point is, if you have a question about, let say, Vz.55 gun handling, do not come asking your question about it. Rather, make a bold statement how Vz. 55's gun handling is horrible, and someone will "correct" you, or agree with you, and you will have your answer. You're welcome. :-)

The forum informs me of a lot of WoT news I might have missed if it didn't exist.

I very much disagree, while the forum is far from where it used to be anytime I've asked for help or information many have been very helpful and I see the same for others. It is the ones who make statements and think they know it all (which is most) who get flamed.

Unfortunately, the forum is not as useful and fun as it was a few years ago. Too many whiners and useless and repetitive posts. I used to spend a lot of time on the forum, now on most days I look at the topics and move on to something else.

I've found it fun, informative and inciteful. I've asked questions and received helpful support. I've typed with a bunch of good people. I guess you get what you give and if you don't it's not your fault. Enjoy!

Absolutely.

The WG FTP revenue model is to generate a high level of frustration in its player base to create more value for pixels and get clients to open their wallets.

The forum provides a release valve and instead of quitting the game the client will come here and yell at Wargaming and be toxic to other players that are just as frustrated.

If this forum was in Russian and not a branch office it might count. Youd need a real shizstorm like WoWs NA and then maybe Our Glorious Leader might hear something in a year.

I mostly use it to pass time at work

Some posters here are useless and provide nothing but drivel

Some have a good understanding of the game and post useful stuff

Most are in between

Well, it's certainly good for some hearty laughter when the ragers and tinfoilers and WG haters are posting.

WG most certainly has a use for the forum. It's a place people can vent off steam they build up over the game. WG never really monitors what is said. At least, not on the NA forum. If you really want to be heard by WG, you need to learn Russian and then post on that forum. Even then, the chances of WG acting on your post are slim and none and slim left town. WG really doesn't give a crap about NA players, except for their $$$. And NA players are more than willing (including myself) to keep spending them. Now tell me the Russians aren't smart at learning capitalism and how to put it to use. :)

There are some player contributors who are awesome, then there are those who are not so awesome.  Then there are those who use the forums as a power tool to screw with people, and some are people who work/volunteer  for WG
