 Just without all the changes that people don't want... make the skills / progression for the commander more like how it works now, just switch to having only one crew member, because I'm tired of the game taking 20 minutes to load every day.

Why do you think screw 2.0 will reduce loading time?

Because Wargaming has said the main reason the program is slow is due to the load put on it by the crew system.

Oh well, if Wargaming said this it must be true given their role as bastion of integrity and all, funnily enough I dont recall people saying how much faster sandbox loaded......

Load time is not going to depend on crew.  All of your crew data is a few bit masks and an XP total.  For 1000 crew...a few KB.

 

If you want some early content 99% of players would accept or like:

 

  1. Crew conversion to crew books
  2. Tidy up some lines skill inconsistencies such as radio duties shifting around between tiers as well as their premiums.

How is WG supposed to make the skills/progression like it is now if you reduce the crews down to a single Commander?

I hope they release it soon too, because can you imagine the # of upset folks who purchase holiday boxes and then find out the game changes that dramatically?  Oof

How is that? loading about 120 crew data each game to the server is nothing. Insignificant amount of bandwith and calculation for any game server. Not even compares with open world MMO's. And for the player, is just 4 crew data per match that should not matter because server do all calculations.

 

There is several ways to fix the "radio man" problem. It is, actually, very easy!

 

Lets say one case,your tier V tank have radio skill on commander and new tier VI have radio skill on loader. When training your entire crew to a new tank, this message should pop up:

-"do you want to move your radio skills to the loader? This will allow your commander to train faster the next skill" YES/NO Then, on loader:

-Completed radio skill will be added to loader skills. Uncompleted radio skills XP will be turned into unselect crew XP

Now you should have a commander with more grow options and keep much needed situational awareness

 

Lets say other case, your tier V tank have 4 crewmembers and your tier VI tank have 5 crewmembers (new radio man)

-"A radio operator will be recruited with a base XP equal to the lower base XP on your crew" (that is if al crew is 100% you get free 100% radio) then:

-"do you want to use unasigned crew XP to boost radio operator XP?" YES/NO

-"do you want to use unfinished crew XP to boost radio operator XP?" YES/NO

By this point you should get a big XP boost to radio, using a few free XP to complete BIA will be preferred if needed.

 

Another case, if you have any spare radio operator (like 100% from rental or from old tanks) in barracks the game will automatically select them for select:

-"choose a radio operator to be retrained to this tank without penalty for free" YES/NO. If not, goes to previous suggestion.

 

Lets say another, you have a tier V 5 crewmembers and your tier VI have 4 crewmembers (no radio man)

-"Do you want to merge the (tier V tank)'s radio operator XP to the rest of the crew? This will dismiss your radio operator" YES/NO (choose NO if you want to keep radio for another tank)

-"asign radio operator completed skills to commander/loader" YES/NO (to get situational awareness inmediatly)

With this you keep situational awareness and every other bit of radio XP incluiding base XP is asignated to the other members to boost their training

I simply have only 1 radio man per nation for all tanks. Works well.
