Howdy Boom Jockeys!

Spoiler

The Tier VII SMV CC-56 tank destroyer is coming to the Supertest soon.  This vehicle will represent a new branch of Italian tank destroyers, capable of fierce combat at both medium and close range. Starting from Tier VII, all vehicles in the branch are equipped with the magazine loading system. Although they may operate a bit differently from conventional guns, in most cases, the gameplay should be the same as that on vehicles featuring cyclic-loading systems.

When comparing the gun parameters of Italian tank destroyers with those of other TDs, you'll notice that the Italian vehicles have a long reload time between shells but, cause decent damage per shot. However, they boast a short reload time for the full magazine.

The vehicle will be equipped with a 105 mm gun with a 3-shell magazine. Loading time between shells is 7 s and total reload time is 25 s. Damage per shot is 320 HP. Penetration with a standard Armor-Piercing shell is 170 mm, and 212 mm with a special APCR shell. Accuracy is 0.44, and aiming time is 3 s.

The tank destroyer features reliable armor for its tier. The frontal hull armor reaches 220 mm, while the turret armor is 260 mm. Turret traverse angle is limited to 60 degrees. Durability: 1,200 HP. Top speed: 31 km/h. Specific power: 13.7 h.p./t.

The SMV CC-56 is the first vehicle in a new branch of Italian tank destroyers that will feature a gun with a magazine similar to Tier VIII–X vehicles, as well as all the advantages and disadvantages of this branch.

This tank better MM against other heavy assault tanks like the AT7 or T28 Concept.

This makes it the 3rd Heavy Assault tank in tech tree for tier 7.

You know what tank needs to be brought down to tier 7? The Ferdinand. It has way less armour than this or AT7 with comparable armour to SU-100M1. Hope WG can make that decision. This tank design is 1956. The Ferd ceased to exist by 1943 and traded for the more successful tier 7 JagdPanther. This would make Jagdpanther 2 the next success tank over Ferd. The German non-turreted TD tech tree makes absolutely no sense and completely outdated with powercreeping.

Ferd down tier will make it the 4th Heavy Assault tank available in tech tree for tier 7.

I can say AMX AC 46 can be on the list too if the frontal armour got buff to original accuracy of 280mm to block tier 9 guns, leaving two weak tumor turret as major weakspot. People going to have to learn to shoot the tumour weak spots of tanks.

That would be 5 balanced Heavy Assault TDs in MM to balance out tier 7 SU-100M1 and AT7.

Its decent at best (coming from the guy who was 3 marking it) its armor is non existent in its tier and really it only has the gun going for it. I'd be fine with it going down a tier and losing the 128mm (like the captured king tiger doesnt have 105) Think it would be a much better tank

Here is the original thread.

http://forum.worldof...o-canon-de-120/

AMX AC 46 wiki

Quote:"Actual name is AMX AC de 120 mm mle. 1946, the "120" indicating the caliber of the gun. The other gun configurations are fake.

  • Actual planned 120 mm gun is missing. This historical version does not exist in World of Tanks.
  • The AMX AC 46 had much thicker frontal armor than later designs, reaching 280mm of thickness (the same as on the most heavily armored AMX M4 blueprints)"

There are tons of turreted TD with terrible armour not in tech tree yet, can't see why WG cannot change some to be "Heavy Assault TD". I'm pretty sure WG can give it the 120mm gun with slower reload speed for balance due to easy weakspots to shoot at so it can fight other Heavy assault tanks in the same tier properly. The biggest gun in tier 7 is the stock 152mm of SU-152, 2nd St. Emil 12.8cm gun, and 3rd the 122mm guns.

I'm going to add this here that the French TD Foch line should have been Heavy Assault like Obj268 or Badger line. There is a possibility to replace the sniper/versatile TD of French line with a new break off line with a brand new French TD line.
