for some reason, that map reminds me of Crysis and Crysis Warhead.

I did a little bit of digging and most people seemed to agree they were German warships: http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/575841-glacier-backstory-what-happened-here/page__st__20__pid__11608165#entry11608165

The aircraft carrier isn't Soviet, as they never had any. I have no idea about any of the others.

OK. I should have clearly stated that they never had any in the typical WoT time frame, or that ever participated in a battle. Sorry for lighting your pedantic fuse.

The Soviets did have a few carriers, sold them to India and China. But since the Soviet carriers used the "jump ramp" design instead of catapults and the carrier in Glacier has a flat deck it isn't a Soviet carrier. The Nazi's built a single carrier class, only the Graf Zeppelin hit the water and they never finished it to put it into service.

But the point is, the Soviets did not have any during the time period usually referenced in this game.  Yes they built a few much later and those are either US, Brit, or Japanese.

When they had the lend lease with the Russians in WWII they went through some icy conditions but I don't believe any aircraft carriers went there. There were operations off of Alaska. I just think they created it for effect.

I believe that the warships would be the Tirptiz and the Scharnhost

No problem buddy.  I do get a chuckle out of your penchant to be smugly yet consistently incorrect.

Exactly.  Just as the wooden hulls could be the Cutty Sark or the Black Pearl.

Isn't one of the ships the Moskva that Ukrainians starched back in April?
