Howdy Boom Jockeys!

 

As stated in the title, more changes and additions are being added to your favorite Arcade Tank game. 

 

I was able to try out Onslaught mode and was very impressed with the mode and how much fun 7 on 7 can be. There are some concerns but from what I saw it is well balanced and not having 8 other tanks on either side means that there are fewer players to spot you. The maps that once felt small now feel twice as big. Mobility is still important, and while light tanks and wheels can feel overpowered there are only 7 tanks so their team is sacrificing armor for speed. This game mode also has points of interest that offer small power-ups, like in Front line. Spotting and Arty Strike are the only two that I can remember at this time, but you have to capture the point in order to unlock the ability, and then the ability is single use. The games are not as long, and while you can still camp in a bush by yourself and do the sniping thing, it's not recommended since it leaves your team in a pickle if your tank is too far away from the action. 

Overall, I am excited for our Community to try this new mode out.

Gotta give props where it's due here. Sixth Sense as default is incredible. It's something the community has asked for for years, and will really help new players especially. Definitely a great change!

 

Onslaught also looks quite interesting to me. Can't wait to try it out.

 

And the map changes look positive overall I think.

 

I'm still not sold on the Personal Reserve changes, but I'm withholding final judgement until we see all of the details.

6th finally being a free skill is wonderful.  It's such a vital skill and really helps situational awareness, this deserves praise.  This will be a huge boon to newbies and low-skill vehicle grinds

 

Onslaught is so far looking like a "will try but am expecting nothing special" mode so far.

Thank you WG for the "6th Sense" change.

I do have a question about it though. For those Commanders that have "6th Sense" as "0-Skill" (mostly the Prime Gaming Commanders), it locks them into only being able to be Commanders (because of the "6th Sense" ). 

So, my question is, when we pick our "new 0-Skill" skill/perk, if it's not a "Commander specific" skill/perk, will they still be "locked" as Commanders?

For example, if I pick "Recon" as the "new 0-Skill" skill/perk, the Commander "should be" locked in as a Commander, since no other crewmember can have that skill/perk.

However, if I decide to pick "BIA", which all crewmembers can have, will that "Commander" now be able to be "respeced" to another position? Or, will they still be locked in as a Commander?

Just fyi,

Hate the gimmicky power ups "like in Frontline", so will never play this mode.

Kind of wish there was no 6th sense in the game at all personally.  Yes, it is a helpful crutch to even things out but would enjoy the game just much if no one had it.  I guess in a way with everyone having it, levels things in a way.

Dislike that only certain types of tanks benefit from this gameplay mode while others are very much less than optimal

 

But to each their own, if some enjoy it good on you.

Any chance for the Sound detection skill being moved from a skill to a UI feature. Similar to Fortnite visual audio for hear challenged.

For all the players that have spent time grinding their commanders 6th sense skill to 100% why isn't the free skill a 100% skill given back? On the test server you only get the replacement skill trained to the level of the current skill the commander is training. That is not a 100% for 100% training swap. Every commander that already has 6th sense fully trained to 100% should get a skill selection trained to 100%. That is not the case!!!!

6th sense should have been there all along.  As for the map changes?  Well, I'm not sure what your trying to accomplish but I think you've failed to do it.  The new mode does look a tad interesting and I will definitely give it a try.  Thanks for tying but I just wished you  had fixed known game issues and bugs, instead especially MM.

Get rid of the points of interest power-ups and everything else is looking good.  I'm actually interested in playing the game again.

 

It's nice to see WG finally doing what they could have done at any time with 6th.

It's supposed to allow you to pick a new 100% trained skill/perk if your 6th Sense is currently 100% trained. 

What may be happening is that WG is applying enough XP for you to pick that new skill/perk, and it's getting automatically applied to the "partial" skill/perk that you're working on. This would leave you with enough XP to get back to that level with the new skill/perk you choose.

If this is that case, that would suck. There are some skills/perks that are required to be at 100% before they work, and one of these would be the one I would choose.

But, luckily, you're on the "test server", which is where these things are supposed to be found. So, submit a feedback report (via a CS ticket and/or the "Feedback/Suggestion" section on the forums) to let them know what is happening.....so they can fix it before it goes live.

I got common test installed and running.

My thoughts:

1. the crewman image next to accelerate crew training is unnecessary 

2. boosts arent clearly labeled as to what they are

3. when changing boost it looks like it is going to charge you 150 gold to change it (it doesnt)

4. it would be nice if you could activate multiple boosts of the same type to extend time to 2hr, 3hr, 4hr, etc

5. listing the zero perks is a nice addition but i think it could have been implemented cleaner by combine the skills  like before and just bracket lablel them into zero and trained or mayby just gold border zero perks and label them in a tool tip

 

everything else seems good, especially those new onslaught skins!

Your suggestion would be logical if each skill had the same point value (linear progression) but they do not .

 

I got the test downloaded now and checked it out. Its fine. they basically just tied 6th to the commander designation and you get the equivalent of the skill back in points. it is exactly the same amount of training you arent losing anything, every thing just shifted over one slot.

If you change a commander to something else you lose the commander designation and thus the 6th sense but retain the skill points, so you cant gain anything extra.

DO NOT convert 200% exp per hour in two 100%. It s not equal. This way you have to play twice more for the same effect to spent twice more credits, time ect. You may not sell and give 200% reserves anymore but keep them until players who have them use them all. Otherwise it s a robbery and you will collect more players hate!!!!

There never seems to be enough players for battle on  the CT server, no matter which tier or tank I choose.....Are there specific time and dates I should be trying to play?
