My personal opinion:
I think they should add the 1200 horsepower Maybach HL 295 Ausf A. engine from the E-50 and E-75 to the GW E. The Object 261 has a horsepower/ton ratio of ~16 (950 horsepower/59 tons), the T92 has a horsepower/ton ratio of ~12.25 (704 horsepower/57.69 tons), while the GW Type E has a horsepower per ton ratio of ~9.93 (870 horsepower/87.6 tons) by far the lowest. If the 1200 horsepower engine were to be used it would give the GW Type E a horsepower/ton ratio of ~13.7 (1200 horsepower/87.6 tons) which I don't think would be overpowered especially considering that the Object 261 would still have a significantly higher ratio.
Given that the GW E has a minimal increase in firepower over the tier 7 arty when compared to the other two tier 8 arties and that it's survivability is what sets it apart it seems only appropriate that it be able to accelerate significantly faster than a Maus (~9.18 horsepower/ton) in order to escape bad situation or to move into position. It would also fit in with the other E-series tanks which all have a 1200 horsepower top engine.

I would love to able move the Gun 2 inches in Sniper mode without having to wait for a whole new re-zoom of the Sight.

TBH, those 30 seconds where the arty isn't able to fire helps a ton (I've bin dragged into high-tier battles with my Tiger and its not fun getting nuked).

Type E better than the GW?
Type E better than the GW?
As a rule of thumb it is slightly better at everything and a lot better in a few areas which usually don't have a big impact on a battle (armor on artillery, resistance to splash damage without artillery tracers, etc.). The only area where the GW Type E gets worse compared to the GW Tiger is acceleration, the GW Type E has 9.9 horsepower per ton (putting it below almost every heavy tank excluding the Maus and E-100) where the GW Tiger has 12.5 horsepower per ton. Giving the GW Type E the 1200 horsepower E-series engine would boost the horsepower per ton to 13.7, bringing it into line with the small improvements in all areas seen in the rest of the vehicle.

Hey, Thanks for that, at least I know it gets better, was almost on the verge of selling it & sticking with the Panther, I'll grind it out now.
+1 for the very helpful post.

The type E is fine as is. The 261 is the fast fire light damage fast mover, t92 is opposite, type e is middle of the road.

By that logic the T92 is a heavy hitting, slow moving artillery beast. The Type E being SLOWER than the T92 does not put it in the middle of the road. If you want it mid-road, you should be in favor of adding the engine.

Nope I am in favor of slowing down the 92
I would be in favor of the type e going faster if it lost the side skirts that protect it like crazy.
I think the type e is the best of the three arty right now. I think they all need a littke help in one area or another.
I think ap rounds out of the 261 should do about 1500 damage.

GW E is good when things go to shit (like in pubs). Unfortunately in clan wars when things go to shit there isn't much opportunity to recover from when things go to shit, so the T92 is preferred because of the splash and the damage. Also lol the 261 is good enough adding ~400 damage to the ap shells would be beyond OP.
It'd be pretty sad if the fastest firing, most accurate top tier SPG could just one-shot everything under tier 10.

you got the strongest armor already
, it will come handy next patch when every arty is countering arty
