For starters: For the record, I forgot to ask on the Q&A thread, alright? And "B2" is too short to use in the search function.

Moving on, I was considering buying a Panzer B2 with the 3,000 gold package, giving me 1,750 spare to convert EXP to free EXP. I checked around on the forums, and here's what I found: decent mobility, good armor, OK gun. So I told my clan-mates that, and immediately the response I got was
"ewwwww" and
"nuuuuu, wait until they get multiple guns working!"
So that brings up a question. When Patch 7.1 comes out, multiple guns will be activated (Lee drivers, rejoice!). Will the B2, being a captured Char B1 bis, get the 75mm howitzer activated? Will it have any gun traverse at all? (I heard that they said that they will give it a limited amount of traverse to make it "playable".) If not, I think I'll just save my pennies and look elsewhere.

The hull mounted 75mm Cannon has no traverse on the B1 and B1 bis (PzKpfw B2(f)) models, however they did fix it on the B1 ter.

It will be nice to see it in its full set up.

The german preium Char B2 will not have a 75mm installed... atleast, thats what the mods and devs say, however something special is going to the caputred/lend lease tanks in a future patch.

I imagine it will function similarly to what it does now to get the gun on target, the B2 isnt fast, but it turns on a dime, which would bring that 75mm to bear very quickly, ilbiet with some spread of course...

...any idea what that may be? I hope it'll make up for having one gun instead of two  <_<

Its already very MM friendly to the owners, and when facing things in tier or lower its still a darn fine tank IMHO as is. I would say yes I just got mine but its pretty decent so far.

Personally, I think that the captured/LL tanks will be rewards given for completing challenges like certain # of finishes in "Historical mode" and the such.

I bought mine on a whim when it was half priced.  It is a pretty decent tank, MM friendly, tons of HP for tier and decently mobile.  You do need to be cautious with it though.  The 47mm is like a machine gun and will pen almost everything you face....the exceptions are the Hetzer, PzIII and M3s frontally.  If you get into a long range, head on gun battle with these you will probably lose.  The tanks also carries 112 rounds so you can bang away furiously.

Your armour isn't super and TDs can ruin your day.

Not a great selection of modules to choose from.  No rammer, stabiliser or gun layer options IIRC.

i got it at half price, i wouldnt buy it again, but i wont sell it either.  the gun is weak to say the least. i think it is for duck hunting and was re purposed to shoot at tanks.  if you see a m3 or the hetzer or the pzIII you lose, can not hurt the hetzer or the m3 with he shells frontally no chance of pen either. the pz3 is actually eaiser if the tank rushes you and tries to circle you. so its turret works against it. side or rear you can hurt on the pz3. the non tureted m3 and hetzer will always face you if given the chance and then will crush you.

The B2 is great.

Armor is fantastic for Tier 4 (60mm/60mm/55mm), and luckily the matchmaker is very kind to it (let's say, over 80% of battles you will be top-dog).

Top speed is low but maneuverability is fantastic (I once circled and killed a Panzer IV from full hp)

60mm frontal (sloped) with few weak-points to speak of makes it a tough nut to crack at this tier.
With the upcoming patch changes to shell normalization, the angled armor will be even more effective.

The 4.7cm gun is weak, yes, but if you know where to aim and which tanks to avoid frontally you will dominate.
There are only a couple of tier 4 tanks that can give you trouble (tier 5 is a different story with KVs and such, but just avoid them and you will be fine). It's a great tank if you want to become an expert at learning weakspots.

E.G.
Usually I avoid attacking Lees at medium-long range, as there is only a small plate on their front that is weak enough to pen (though it is highly angled).
Hetzers are virtually invulnerable frontally, but if you can use the B2's agility to circle it up close it will die fast.
There are also some tanks with big guns that you should take out quickly before they damage you (e.g the respectable Marder).

? it has a gun stablizer
but at 10% faster aiming time with an already 1.0 sec aim time, seems sort of ruduntant.

also spall liner works wonders.

LOVE my B2.  I wasn't sure either so I bought it when it was half off.  It's almost always top dog and really only the PZIII, M3, and Hetzer do you have to worry about.  I usually just ask for some TD support against those tanks and I have a blast.
