The game is called World of Tanks, not WWII tanks. Who cares, it's a game not a historical reenactment.

They're going even farther up in the timeline for the French tanks I do believe. LOL They're balanced.

When I began this game back in August "10, after the first battle with my trustfull Ltracktor I noticed the tracks magically repaired themself after they got broken. I've never combined realism with this game ever since.

So, if Wargaming makes it so that the tanks can fly, I'm not going to be surprized.

you ARE aware that soon were going to be getting French Tanks, Followed by British tanks followed by Japanise tanks followed by who knows what?

You ARE aware that many of the tanks you see in fights NEVER EXISTED on any battlefeild ANYWHERE, ESPECIALY any US tank that starts with T(and even some of the M tanks)

You ARE aware that virtualy all of the German BT11+ tanks either never existed or only existed as mockups?

So the next time you think to whine about one tank and clame that it dosent belong for whatever reason you try to make up, realise you cant realy make an exception for one tank without taking out roughly 20-30% of the tanks currently in play.

Let's see here.  This is a game.  A game is intended to convey an essential experience, not to reflect reality.  You can already see evidence of this in the many stats and mechanics in this game.  If you want to be historically accurate, you're free to right as many papers on the history of tanks in the 20th century all you want.  This historical topic has really been done to death.  This game is at most historically "inspired", not historically based.

According to wikipedia the type 59 tank entered production in 1957.

No wonder my WWII tanks stand no chance.

This tank is outside the operating parameters of WoT which I understand to be WWII- 1950. The tank is overly powerful and has (once again) upset the game balance. It should be removed from play.

from the Wot F.A.Q.

Quote

What types of armored vehicles are presented in the game?

World of Tanks features armored vehicles from Germany and the Soviet Union that were produced and designed starting from early 30’s and up to the Korean war. Gamers can have light, medium, and heavy tanks, as well as tank destroyers and long-range self-propelled howitzers. Apart from real tanks, the game includes prototype vehicles, such as the German E Series tanks.

So, it fits in quite nicely with the parameters of WoT's... tho' I feel LOLtraktors are OP and should immediately recieve massive nerfs or be removed...  :Smile_honoring:

But the T-54 does?  The T-54 is better in every way.

Panther II or Pershing will run circles around this tank, don't know where "overly powerful" comes from.

1930's to 1960 was the original idea, and statement of the time era

I would be quite happy to see a lot of the tanks that never existed removed from play. This game would be much improved if most of us drove main battle tanks.

My specific plaint about Type 59 is made because you don't typically see 6 or 8 Maus tanks in one battle.

Korean war ended in 1953.

Type 59 entered production in 1957.

Technically there still at war, no peace treaty was ever signed. But anyways, it is a little modern but china didn't have many unique tanks in ww2

Does it really matter that there is a tank in the game that is younger than some arbitrary date in the timeline?

I think the better question is whether the tank fits in with performance-wise with the other tanks in the game.
Currently, the T-59 is competitive, but not OPed.  It's just a tier 8 tank that just happened to be produced recently.
I just looked over my dossier, and I have 49 Type-59 kills in my name even though it was just recently added this past month.  The tank isn't powerful....

Does the date confer some magical properties to the tank that makes it OPed or something?  Or is this just a case of someone being a bit too concerned about a number that doesn't really matter much in the grand scheme of things

I don't know why, but seeing the comment "T59 (er Type 59) doesn't belong in the game" just makes me think they might be one reason why the game of whack-a-mole was invented.   I've had some games where I see those darn things (the type 59's) seemingly appearing from darn near everywhere and then vanishing after discharging a shot and hopefully getting a smash in return.  In my opinion, the style of play at the upper tier levels have changed because of them, but that's not a bad thing.  The more tank types we have, the better, even if the tip of the Walmart army spear.

You don't play much CW battles then do you??  ;)  I've seen battles with 4-5 Maus/E-100's and upwards of 7-8 IS-7's...  :Smile_honoring:

um main battle tanks flat out dont exist untill AFTER the timeframe of the game.

Removeing the mostly fictional(as most of them never existed beyond 2-4 prototypes) US Heavys or the Teir 9 and 10 German heavys (that only existed in bluprints) would tend to completly unbalance the game, and the game would defacto degenerate into Germany Vs Russia with Russian tanks being the clear winner because most of thoes tanks actualy DID exist.

Incidentaly, drive Teir 9, you will see matches with 10+ Teir 10s(or worse, 5 Teir 10s and 5 Teir 8 artilery) on each side soon enough. especialy with the recent fixes to the MM.

North Korea is still using T34s in 2011.

No wonder my T54 has no chance against......ohwait.

Also, Confirming that the devs are Chinese and are Chinese-biased.

Also, confirming that after the Chinse Type-62 light tank come out, the following thread will dominate the headlines:

T62 isnt a WWII tank.
T62 is OP.
T62 is destroying this game.
T62 should not be in this game.
Limit T62 to 0 per battle.
My IS7 is being killed by T62s.
T62 is the reason why the game sucks.
Devs remove T62 or I will stop spending money on your game.
The reason why T62 is OP.

And so on.

Oh, I want 125mm smoothbore gun, Advanced Optics, Advanced Stabalizer Mark III, Explosive Reactive armor, fire-control computer for my Type-59, please. Those are historically mounted on the Type-59/T54.
