Hi all, I recently bought the 59 and am considering which upgrades to get for it. I already have the ammo loader to reduce reload time but don't know which other two to pick. I'm leaning more towards crew venting and vertical stabilizer, but am curious about the optical equipment as well. i'm not much of a sit and snipe player, so camo probably isn't very important to me...
any suggestions are welcome!

rammer, vents, stabs. Anything else is essentially a waste, unless u use it for scouting

Maybe just bad luck on my part, but my ammo was blowing up every 2-3 matches. I went with Vent/Ram/WAR

I used to have, on my T-54, Vent-Rammer-Stabilizer. However my friend and I found more and more people figured out where to ammor rack us time and again. I changed out the Stabilizer for the Wet Ammor Rack and that helps a ton. I am assuming the Type 59 is very similar since in reality it is a modified T-54.

In my first 20 or so matches in my Type 59 I got one-shotted with 100% health by getting 'ammo-racked' from a shot that hit the FRONT of my turret, probably 3 or 4 times. These were all from Tier 8 tanks. I installed the Wet Rack and haven't been racked since. Maybe just dumb luck idk, I have Ram/Vent/Wet Rack.

I have vert-stab, because I drive like a nut job, hitting tanks on the run; rammer, because I want to put down as much hurt as possible with that puny gun; and vent. I would, however, seriously consider WAR instead of vents, because I get hit there a lot, and because my Type 59 has completely blown up several times when the ammo rack went up.

Rammer, vertical stabilizer, wet ammo rack.
Vents offer decreasing benefit as your crew approaches 100% the above are all must have on the T-59;
You must shoot on the move in the T-59 the rammer, vertical stabilizer let you do this much more effectively. The T-59 has 5 ammo rack locations and is very prone to one shot explosive death, you do not shoot anything when you explosively die.

Vents, Rammer, Stabilizer.
In roughly 50 games on this tank, I have not once been blown up with a hit to the ammo rack (and have only been set on fire four times, including twice in the same battle). If you learn how to drive the Type 59 and how to shield the vulnerable points (e.g. when taking shots from the front, always have them hit your left side since your ammo rack is on the lower right), wet ammo is going to only help you once in a fairly long while; however, vents, rammer or a stabilizer will help you with literally every shot (and also boost your maneuverability by a little bit).

Any thoughts on gun laying drive? The aiming time sees long to me ... don't have the stats in front of me.

Most people feel that the V-stab offers more benefits. In part because you'll be on the move more, and also because it will reduce the amount of aim time you need if you do choose to stop.

I run vents, rammer, and v-stab, too. It kicks the crew up to 116%. I'd also go with the v-stab, because the circle with the gun starts off smaller than before it had it.

I went with the vent/rammer/stab until my crew made it to 100%, then I removed the vent and installed a wet ammo rack. The Type 59 is a rolling ammunition wagon, and more and more people are starting to realize this. I myself always aim for the ammo rack on type 59's even when I am driving my own 59, and you can tell who has and who does not have a WAR (all I can say is that the Type 59 brews up nicely).

Crew 100%, split camo/repairs
rammer, camo net, I switch back and forth between stab or optics trying to experiment whats really going to work with my style.
Never been ammo racked yet.
I have however sat to the flank of the enemy flag and sniped away at some very dangerous tanks unseen when equiped with optics.
Up close, I'll dart in and out behind cover and plink at whatever so stab helps there. Teamed with another 59, we've had a shot going from behind cover every few moments, keeping most tanks pinned down while arty chewed, or another flanked.

Right now I am using the rammer, toolbox, and stabilizer. I found my turret getting busted a lot and my tracks too so that's what the tool box is for. Even if I use the repair kit that only works once and I often see more than one module bust during the more intense confrontations. The rammer is obvious; this tank needs the highest RoF possible for it's role. And the stabilizer because this tank is so much better when performing the circle of death.

I noticed not one person recommended spall liner, I had been expecting to see 1 or 2 of those. I personally use spall liner, WAR, and rammer. Spall liner because i always have and always will have an intense and irrational desire to ram everything. I had vents Vert-Stab and rammer, but I had one day where I got ammo racked like 6 battles over the course of about 15, and tossed the vents for wet ammo rack. The spall liner, I really shouldn't have on there, I recommend Vert-Stab.
Edit: before I got 100% repair I tried toolbox for a while, but it's really more useful to just have the crew trained in repair. I'd have all 4 crew trained in repair, because the bonus is determined by averaging across the entire crew, so whatever % you get, if only half your crew is trained in it, you only get half that % to begin with.
