Actually from what I have heard, the 80's show had some decent moments despite being rather...painful. Supposedly the villains were actually rather dangerous despite the setting, and the location was some sort of deathworld...

Welcome to the 80s, where children's shows had scenes of scarring unintentional horror plus some disturbing imagery and nobody batted an eye (Carebears was notorious for this). Well, the kids did, when they woke up screaming from a night terror or two. But the 80s MLP was pretty much as stupid as you can get.

Anyways, I'm going to get this thread trotting with a question.
Who is your favorite character from the show?
Post a picture with your answer and explain why.

http://www.ponychan....30233886691.jpg
This is Fluttershy, she's my favorite because of her multiple personalities in the oddest of moments as well as the D'aaaaaawwwww cute moments she finds herself into. My favorite episode was the one she was babysitting in. "Stare master" She will come through in conclusion with her mood swings when needed. She lectured a dragon into submission, I found that awesome, she trolled Discord into acting on changing her element and her cheering on rainbow dash made me fall off my chair in laughter seeing as how quiet it was. I chose this picture because I also like tanks and Fluttershy on a tank sounds awesome to me. =D

I dunno, I always thought the creepy stuff was cool. Then again I loved Aliens from the first moment I saw it and I think I was 12 or so at the time.

Also, I freely admit that some of the comedy factor in MLP is the fanart the fandom puts out

It left an impression with some of us. So much so that some of us tell stories with such creepy and horrifying imagery that you've scarred some of your peers and been accused of giving those who read it insomnia.

I can't say I like the 80s version of My Little Pony because it was the expressive characters and animation from today's My Little Pony: Friendship is magic that made me a fan of today's series.  Then again I was born in 1990, I grew up with things like pokemon, dragon ball z and dexter's laboratory.

If you enjoyed dexter's lab or the power puff girls I'm sure you'd like the new My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series Lafayette. =D
Give it a try, you could probably find all episodes on youtube.

Thought someone would find this funny, though if that last part is pushing it I can take it down.

Friendship is Witchcraft 4 came out. http://www.youtube.c...nel_video_title

If you don't know what that is, then watch episodes 1, 2, and 3. They are all a riot.

I grew up with things like this being shoved into my eyes, 'made for children', eh?

Imagine watching a young girl viewing it, at night long after her parents have gone to sleep, her room only illuminated by the color of the television and holding a Raggedy Ann doll. The scene above is playing and as Satan begins to make the Earth move and the figures die, this little girl has a growing smile on her face as the little clay people are snuffed from existence and as the grass covers the ruins of the swallowed castle, she turns to face you with that bright smile and says:

"It was so cute how that little cow died."

Hmm. I'm guessing she grew up to bake cupcakes?

I went there.
