Hmmm.. Chieftain, would you put the speed limit of the T110 closer to 48kph? The similarities between the M60 and T110 are really startling from what I gather, and I am expecting almost similar performance from them. Is the reason the M60 did not go with a 120mm (initially, I understand there are some 120mm M60s running around) was for ammo commonality between allies, and less for performance reasons?
British have Chieftain ;) with 120mm gun; AMX 50 would have been push into production if 120mm gun is ever needed; German eventually give Leopard a 120mm gun when they upgrade it to 2. If US did push 120mm gun as standard for NATO, there isn't much reason for the European to say no.

The main problem is way most M4 still have 75mm after D-Day: the necessity of a 120mm gun is not foreseen, as the war in Middle East proven 105mm is effective against (export) Soviet armour.

But some 30 years later, if you ain't shooting HE round almost exclusively (like British with their HESH), 105mm is all you need on a tank.

I bet Chieftain recommended the M60 instead of the T110. It's really the only tank I'd be hugely disappointed if the rumor were false.

emm...well, for M60, can it be a Tier X HT rather than MT (in future)?

M60 is too modern. If we are going to add that then we might as well throw in the T-72, Leo 1, AMX-30, etc etc

Then we will have world of a few MBTs.

I wonder, does anyone know how thick the turret armor was supposed to be? I'm particularly interested in the sides, though knowing the front/mantlet would be nice too. I'd really love if we get to enjoy the significantly higher turret side armor everyone else gets (though the tumor could make it all pointless I suppose).

M103 have 3" (76mm), but that's probably just for the stock turret; T110 should have over a 100mm.

Taken off of Wikipedia, so I don't know how accurate this is:
Armor

The armor is made from welded rolled and cast homogeneous steel of varying thickness.

Hull front: 100–130 mm (4.0–5.3 in)
Hull side: 76 mm (3.1 in)
Hull top: 25 mm (1 in)
Turret mantlet: 250 mm (10.2 in)
Turret front: 180 mm (7.3 in)
Turret side: 76 mm (3.1 in)
Turret top: 38 mm (1.5 in)

MBT is not a medium nor a heavy.  :Smile_great: It's an MBT...But I think it would work out as a Heavy...just a fast heavy.

tbh, Type-59(Same year M60 was thrown into production I think) and the Type-62(Soon to be added) are even more or equally modern.

Not all tanks are equal. All the cool modern US tanks are way too good for this game, apparently.

actually i think due to the lack of wartime tanks the french will be getting the AMX-30 as T-10 heavy iirc.

Wait a minute. Who told you the Type-62(another Chinese tank?) is going to be added? And if they do add it because the Chinese wants it, then it should only be fore the Chinese servers. If not I want a damn M60.

Yes, the Type 62 light tank is going to be added. 35mm hull armor, 50mm turret, 85mm gun. Run in fear of it OP-ness.
(60kmh road, 35kmh off-road, btw)

Well, there's a T-62 that's a russian MBT. The type 62 is just a type 59 but with no armor and a smaller gun. Because that's what the game needs, another clone of the T-54/55.

Type 62 would be a lot fairer unless they somehow make it play against tier 4 all the time.

It's not that I think it'd be powerful like the T-54 or Type 59, it's that they all look the same. Like exactly the same. Same problem I had with the T29/T30/T34. I just think there are more interesting tanks that could be added.

Although when it comes to the Chinese, all their early tanks were just renamed Russian models, so I dunno.

Even today Chinese are more or less reproducing Russian tanks. I really don't know why would the devs want to add Chinese tanks.

Er...no.
Spoiler

I admit my knowledge of French tanks is....okay, let's be honest, I have next to no knowledge of French tanks, but the AMX-50 is the French tier 10, not the AMX-30.  No clue what their relation is...

The numbers 50 and 30 are target weights IIRC.

In addition I believe the French line was revised to have the AMX-68T as the tier 10 heavy, but I don't have written sources of that.

In the late 50s the French and West Germans collaborated on a MBT project. Much like the later MBT70 project between the US and West Germany, both sides decided to build their own tank from their own designs. The West Germans put out the Leopard 1 and the French put out the AMX-30.

Actually given that the early prototype designs were of a similar path as the higher tier French tanks we are getting (Low Armor, high firepower, good mobility), the possibility of including a prototype design from one or both as tier 10 mediums could be workable.
