I was talking to a friend about this the other day. There really aren't many tank movies that have come out in the USA. I guess it's just not exciting enough for Hollywood. Saving private Ryan I guess would be my vote for one of the best war movies. I saw quite a few WWII age men that just sat there after the movie, not moving for a few minutes, my father included. I've never watched it again.

While limited, Band of Brothers had some decent tank footage on 1 or 2 episodes. Actual WWII tanks were used as compared to many of the tank movies of the 60's which used M48's for everything (i.e. Patton, Battle of the Bulge).

Band of Brothers was just full of awesome.

One of my all-time favourites!! Enough of these WWII tankers, let's have a T-55 lost in '80's Afganistan! :P

Sahara with Bogart is definately a favorite.  M3 Grant in action.

Kelly's Hero has a nice tank scene when the three Shermans attack the rail head.  Also a nice fight with the Sherman against the Tigers in the town.  Oddball's explanation of how to kill a Tiger is pretty accurate and should be required watching by all WoT players.

The GREATEST war movie series of all time is LIBERATION!

Five movies depicting the start of the war till the end!

I was sitting there, infront of my home theatre for 3/4 of day! When i have finished watching the whole series it was evening!

Documentary material was used from soviet, american, british, german a french archives combined with featured movie.
All characters are according to the true story. Autors didnt care about the money and instead focused on the details.

Mix of color and black and white film is used for the maximal effects. This - thing - is - HUGE!

One of the most important war movies ever made.

NOTE: Its REAL! It has over hour of immense tank battles, real tanks were used!!!!!

Scroll to 2:45 for epic tank jumps!
Watch from 4:01 to 4:30 for pure awsomness!
Watch from 6:26 for epic tank hit, you can see fire inside the tank and bailout!

Oh yes, "Liberation!" (Also, the "Tigers were made from T-44's. [NOT T-34 or T-54/55] Plus, you can see some undisguised T-55's and T-62's in the background in the Kursk battle above. ;) )
