I saw this thing somewhere, just can't remember where.  Is it coming in with 7.0?  Is it premium?  I'm all up for a bonus tank or a free tank.  Not sure if I want to spend gold on one.

Never heard/seen that name before. Closest thing I could find is the SU-76(I) which is indeed a premium tank.

Stealthy Tanks...

The new update will also include a special model SU-85 (I) available within special World of Tanks events.

Not sure... it's mentioned in the thread linked above, but I personally haven't read/seen anything as to what it will be (i.e. premium or not or how to get it)

su 85 (I) is the first prototype of su 85 which was canceled due to crew space reasons and I = invisible

From what I can gather, it's an Su-85 built on a Panzer III hull. Weird. Cute, tho.

It's part of an upcoming event that can be won/bought in some form or another. We have yet to be told publicly.

The russians took about 200 captured PzIII hulls and put new superstructures and guns on em to make new TDs

According to my sources the 'I' stands for either 'inostranniy' (foreign) OR ''izmennik' (turncoat). It appears that no-one is quite sure which. This comes from 'Soviet Mechanised Firepower 1941-1945' by Steven J. Zaloga and J. Magnuski.

Thats a good source, have to agree with that! A good source is important. I have some of Zaloga's books too.

horrible tank...shells bounce on everything. its like the SU85 with the stock gun. only thing good about it is turn speed and acceleration.

This is a remake of captured Soviet Pz3 of whom took the chassis + new cutting.

Both the SU-76I and the SU-85I are built on captured panzer 3 hulls. They just differ in the guns they mount. I like the look of the SU-85I myself, its cleaner then the SU-85, though I have no desire to buy a soviet TD premium. Not when its guns will be guaranteed to suck for it's tier.

They dont have to change stug whole armor for that. Its super structure is obviously not stug.

No the Stug the Soviets frankenstiened is the one in the game we got that is missing its historical 30mm extra armor on the front plate. They put the bolts in but not the extra armor plate that is supposed to be what the bolts were for.

It's basically a stug (pz3) chassis with a stock su-85 superstructure.

What happened to this thing?  Did it get binned?  Looks half decent for a tier 5 premium tank.

I like the look of it, its much cleaner then the regular SU-85. I hope it has a gun worth a damn. Even the better accuracy 85mm would be fine if it got preferential MM tier spreads to compensate, i.e. if it never had to see tier 8 and 9.

I think it has the second gun, not the stock gun.  Basically, I foresee this being an "agile" TD like the Stug.  While the regular SU-85 has a better gun, but is blind and turns slowly.
