Hi all!

You probably know me from contests, events, news and YAWR topics.

Since Overlord moved to Developers team I will now answer on your questions in this thread. Let's wish Overlord luck and us good cooperation!

I want to remind you the following:

In this thread you can ask Developers about WoT things you are interested in.

This thread is being regularly cleaned up so that only players' questions and developers' answers remain.
In order to retain readability, developers' answers can be grouped by amount of up to dozen in a single post posted below.

The price of this premium tank will be adjusted according to it's performance. It does not means, that the price will depend on the technical characteristic. It will be chosen according to it's credit and XP income.

And we will be able to announce the final price only after the public test of this vehicle

Unfortunately, for now we are forced to use tags. Because in other case it will be a real issue for the data base, if two players from different servers have the same nickname.

We are currently testing different mechanics. Player will be able either to choose maps he excludes for different types of vehicles or exclude them for all vehicles. Of course, the filter will be changeable.

Yes, there are a lot of plans to improve and expand statistics and Global rating. Unfortunately, this feature has low priority, so I cannot provide you any ETA

This is how game mechanics work. It won't be changed, but we will improve the situation slightly soon

Camouflages won't affect this. This is one thing from game mechanics - server checks disclosure of a vehicle and also releases scout checking beams every few seconds.

So this means that the 'scout beam' was produced by server second or 2 after the T34 got in your observation sector.  The disappearance can be explained if the T34 was not scouted by you at that moment but one of your allies, who lost it from his line of sight.

There final changes will be performed after the Public Test. I can't give any details before it, because anything I say on that matter will probably change. So it will mean that I've gave to you not trustworthy information-)

It will probably retain the same game model.

Yes, you are right about the recent MM changes. Now players can upgrade their vehicle and get used to it before facing the biggest threats possible.

There will be different time for different Tiers and Types of tanks. Also the term will depend on damage received by the tank.

We want as many clans as possible enter the Global Map and make it harder to dominate large amounts of lands. The last update we implemented for CW showed us, that we are going in the right direction.

Unfortunately, sometimes community can actually receive a real picture of the update a month or two after it, because they sometimes make wrong conclusions and stick to them for a long time.

1. Yeah, there is one German TD planned for this-)
2. Yes, we will release some for sure.
3. The camouflage won't give any bonus to camo value initially. It will be some kind of a 'skin' which players currently do. Gold camouflage will be permanent and credit camouflage will work only some time (1-30 days)
4. Not in the nearest future, as far as I'm aware.

We constantly look at statistics and if we see an issue, we fix it immediately. So if there will be an issue with the amount of credits these tanks gain - we will fix them. Also some improvements of situation you mentioned will come along with new T4-7 premium vehicles.

Many clan members were sure that locking the possibility to apply for landing for clans, which have land on the 'continent'. But it actually increased the amount of new clans on the Global Map.

Also I would like do remind you that CW are currently in Beta. That means that if this feature fails, we will remove or change it.

Players will be still able to add their skins. The case is that it will be slightly more difficult now and will require another type of work.

It will be Tier III-V. This only I can say for now. But we will announce more details pretty soon.

The answer depends on what do you mean. There are three possible variants:

AFAIK, with a patch all custom skins always change on default ones. So with the patch all skins you had will be removed. So there won't be any problem with 'weird' camo.

OK. To clarify this I need to explain a bit, what is 'ready' in my opinion.

M103 has been already designed, it's screenshots were leaked dozens of times and can be easily found throughout the forums.

M103 received it's characteristics and was added to internal Test.

But I can't state that the vehicle is ready, if it has not passed the Super- and Common Tests. Because it's characteristics can receive major changes basing on player's feedback and statistics gathered. Like it happened with E-serie on the Common Test.

So the only answer available for me right now is the word 'different'. M103 will be different. That's all I can state.

Some days before the Common Test, after a big period of SuperTest, I normally allow myself to state that the vehicle is more or less ready and give probabilities whether the characteristics will change or not. That's all.

I hope that after this explanation you will understand my answer: 'It's not ready yet and should be tested first'.

We are constantly working on interface improvement and consider different variants, including the one you added. But it has lower priority than other features (new gave modes,for example).

Also, suggestions are situated in specific forum section, we are constantly looking through it and you can leave your proposals there.

Which T29 turret, though? There were at least three turret variants other than the one on T29E3 with the external rangefinders. That the T5 turret weighs more than the original T29 turret would not necessarily be unreasonable, given the differences in drive system amongst any other changes

I cannot give you an official list of the new skills, since they are currently being tested and some of them can be removed totally.

7.1 - French Tanks, M103, some performance improvements + new maps + some premium tanks
Q1 2012 - Change in the Soviet Tech Tree, some more French tanks and German TD's + new game modes.

I will answer in this way, because features and tanks can be either delayed or made faster depending on their development. So they may or may not enter the specific version. So I can tell only about the updates, which will come soon - 7.0 and 7.1

You are free to report about anything you consider an issue to our Customer Service. But I assure you that almost everything is processed server-side, so it's almost impossible to hack the game. Because such hacking can cause only a server hard-restart.

There are no plans to change in-game mechanics in a radical way, besides adding physics.

I've noticed on this thread and the same thread on EU forums that there appears to be a bug with the 'Go to first unread post' button. Essentially it goes to a blank page with just the OP on it. Suspect it is to do with posts being pruned as they are answered.
Is anyone looking into this?

Yes, we are currently working on a totally new forums (the changes will be significant, as well as they were with the Portal). With a new engine we will be able to fix the major part of issues current version has.

I can suggest trying the 10.5 mm gun. Currently, basing on statistics, we do not plan to change the characteristics of the JagdPanzer IV besides of reworked mantlet in 7.0. Probably this vehicle will be slightly rebalanced along with introduction of the second TD line. The tests will show.

Also I do agree that this is not an easy vehicle to handle comparing with Stug III.

I added a T10 TD into the mix because I was also wondering if the devs have considered seriously the potential for T10 TDs. I do no know about the other nations, but at least the US (T110 AT, version 4 of the Chrysler proposal) and Germany (Jagdpanzer E-100) have that potential.

I have another question.

Why are M10 and M36 US tank destroyers so different than what they were in real life?

Granted they are called Tank Destroyers by the US Army but they performed more like shoot and scoot mediums and not like the slow vehicles they are in game. The M10 in particular had the same performance as the M4 Sherman while the M36 has similar but slightly less performance(due to heavier turret and gun) as an M4 Sherman as well. Furthermore, the M36 does not even get its real Ford GAA engine and its gun depression when using the 90mm. It makes me apprehensive for the upcoming M18 Hellcat when you balance these two vehicles as such. The M10, M18 and M36 were literally fast, mobile vehicles which pack a big punch but sacrifice protection.

If you can implement the French tanks as something that would add some unique and different vehicles, make the US turreted TDs they way they were. They may be called Tank Destroyers but they are far from what this game defines tank destroyers as.

This is something that for now costs the whole Development team a day of work. If we allow this feature before developing functional necessary for making this process quicker, the game will never see more updates.

Yes, I beg my sincere pardon for that.

We were looking at fixing that issue. Currently you can add a player to your ignore list and it will also make his pings 'unhearable' for you. But only starting from the next battle. That is something we are trying to fix and hope, that we will make it along with 7.0.

Also pings can be turned off along with other 'Ambient' sounds in 7.0.

Though I quite do not understand to which tank exactly do you refer in your question? Since on the test I can remember only the MTLS-1G14 US tank added to the test recently.
