How much penetrating power are shells losing after a ricochet? Are there any different ricochet types?

  • WoT has only one ricochet type. And shells lose 20% penetration.

Though I would still like to know-


-How much penetration is lost for rounds that first penetrate tank modules (I.E. Tracks, Optics or Gun/mantlet) before impacting the armor?

I think we need to be given statistics regarding the raw and effective values on all parts of tanks for EVERY tank and have it either be implemented on the WIKI or in game. Without knowing how much exactly angling effects armour in this game and not knowing armour on certain parts of tanks (Lower Glacis has created UNBELIEVABLE strife for people that argue about balance issues, and for people that crave HISTORICAL ACCURACY. I am most certain that this will solve many people's issues regarding theories on how the game is balanced because we will have HARD FACTS instead of speculation.

Please devs, I beg of you for an answer on this matter. I love your game and what you've done about it so far, but I'm in firm belief that the implementation of the additional information on tank statistics will make many more people willing and satisfied to play your game, because they will be at peace of mind knowing that you stand true behind both historical accuracy and balance.

Will there ever be a cap to the number of higher tier arty on each team in higher tier matches?.....Ive played countless games where there are 6 on each side effectively ruining the gameplay.

When are the changes for HE planned?

As in, currently HE when it impacts a surface it generates it's sphere of effect based on it's explosion radi, and then proceeds to target the weakest armor in that sphere regardless of what is in the way between the epicenter and that armor location. Which leads to the main issue people have with arty, the shells have 10m+ explosions which when a tank is 3M wide, it encompasses the entire tank, auto targetting that tanks weakest armor no-matter-what, even if it isn't a penetrating hit, half damage minus such low armor that is found in the driver view ports means that HE will almost always do near their max half damage, as well as it makes spall liners worthless, because 40mm driver hatch armor +15% spall liner armor is only 6 more damage subtracted from the damage.

for everyone else. HE damage is thus calculated >
Penetration: full damage -+25%
Failed-Penetration: Base Damage / 2 - Armor Thickness * 1.1(unsure on exact amount but it's a small buff for all or may be dependent on the tank)  * 1.15(this is the increase from a spall liner)

For those that failed math, it's the base shell damage divided by 2, then subtracts the total armor thickness buffed up by the spall liner and tank's natural resistance to HE.

Have any plan add 170mm gun for E100? 150mm AP HE round are too weak than other T10 Tanks.

No, because that would mean the Germans have the best gun for thier tier, which is worse than the appocalyps in the mind of the Developers it seems.

Happens only only happens twice in the entire game (tier 7 and 8).

after some 20 billion matches (slightly exaggerated), IMO the ONLY things in this game that are properly balanced are the Medium Tanks.  

All other classes have serious faults.

Yes, so said APC's could die in one shot, or so that their machine guns could be completely ineffective in anything but tier 1 matches, or so that said infantry could run out of their APC's and be mowed down/ran over/otherwise killed.

well... will you guys work on lag please? the lag is pretty bad... i have a windows 7 home premium duel core 2.40 GHz processor with 4 GB of ram and INTEL R(HD) graphics and i get 5-18 fps in himmelsdorf map which i have noticed has the least lag. please fix this or add more fps somehow. i know its not easy but its probably the biggest drawback in the game. the game is awesome otherwise! love your game very very much. :)

Great, there goes the only tier 9 heavy that could face the IS-4. I hate to cry russian bias, as I wholeheartedly believe it is not true, but I am not so sure now...

160mm at 60Degrees to Vertical = 320mm effective. of course you cannot pen it with 260mm pen gun.

due curiousity, i also modeled the lower glacis in Autocad, if it is 130mm at 60 degree to vertical, it should be 260mm effective, therefore, the situation in our e75 now is actually already nerfed.
i can pen the upper with 128mm gun w/gold ammo at 311mm pen
and lower could be pen by many lower tier guns at 225pen or even 200mm pen(normal AP).

I.e. there must be some nerf done by the mechanism...will devs try to explain this to us?

In the Test server for the 7.0 I noticed that the "Easy8" gets the 105mm SPH howitzer that's on the M4 Sherman
and the M4A3E2 will this carry over to the actual
game or is this just a test perk ?
