Finally, one of the features that i had been waiting for a long time (and right now overlooked)... the ability to record a replay! Few things that i love about WoT replays:

- u can see every move that one did in the battle;
- u can also see all the chatter, map pings, everything was recorded;
- watching the replay in slow motion (1/16) which is actually very very cool, or see it in high speed 8/1(AFAIR);
- pretty god damn small file (approx. 1mb for 15 min of battle);

Would be nice to see a website where u can download/upload replays for WoT!

Anyway anybody else shares my joy for replays, or i m a freak? :P

you would still have to use fraps its not made to recorded a 2D replay it just records the 3D replay of the battle that you can play back on WoT only... that is if your going to post it on you tube.

You will be forced to use fraps anyway (if you want to save your favorite fights of course), because newer versions of WorldOfTanks.exe will not be able to read old *.wotreplay files.
(i.e. you won't be able to watch your 0.7.0 matches when 0.7.1 will be released)

why is this? i mean as long as the files in the video are not modified (Map Objs, vehicle Objs, Etc.) in the update then wouldn't the replay still work?

We asked one of the developers on russian server, and he told us these grave news.

I prefer having raw replay, more control over replays compared with movie file/s****y youtube

Well i hope they will be backward compatible otherwise what's the point of having replays?

I don't  know exactly why - he didn't mentioned the reason. Maybe you should try to ask Overlord about it.
Devs on russian server are... hm, impolite with users sometimes and they don't like go into details.

curious, can we share each others raw replays? I'd love to see how some of the pro's do their thing, and sometimes I get those "awesome moments" where things goes right that would be fun showing off too.

I do enjoy the youtube video's but that only shows so much of the action.

If you guys still interested in the reason of such an unfair mechanism:
Dev said that in case if one map will totally remaked, or some tanks will be replaced in the branch (for example, JS-4 will be moved to tier 10 and his position will be placed by CT-4) or another significant changes, there will be incompatibility of actual client and data in the replay. Because of that replays will be able to be played only by version which recorded them.
