i do what you say and replace the dds. folder with the skin folder but my tank shows up bright red (the tank skin i want is camo) which i know it means image not found.

what should i do? (PS i delete the dds folder is that doing it wrong on this?)

I have Photoshop CS-5, when i try to open up the .DDS file ic says it is no the right type of document, why is this happining?

You need the .dds plugin for Photoshop, Google it and install it. I don't know how well it works with CS5 but it's fine with PS7.

Ok I am having a problem modifying the graffiti_stickers.dds

What I want to do is change it and put my own pic in its place. The trouble is it only shows my pic in the shape of the original image as seen on the shot_021.jpg attached to this post.

Can I change it so it shows the whole image as seen in the graffiti_sticker.jpg that’s attached?

Now, due to the nature of files(skins) being held in the root directory, rather than the server itself like mentioned in the F.A.Q., I wonder if other people can see your current skin that you applied to your tank? I understand if another tank of the same type and classification runs based off a local directory within your computer making it appear exactly like yours, but I just want to know if your own skin is displayed to other players.

Does anyone know if there is a free model viewer out there that is compatible with this game so that if you don't have the ability to open up WoT all the time you can keep tabs on your skin's progress. I reskinned for Jedi Academy and ModView for the Quake III engine was a very useful tool.

Please note, Ladies & Gents, that I am currently redoing the thread on the EU forums. Once I have updated it there, and finally included my decal/marking tutorial, then I will update this thread. My skinning techniques have improved since I originally put this thread up on the WoT forums, so I will finish up on the EU one shortly & transfer it across.

oky im tryin to use the converter for the dds thingy and im haven no luk could you possible please give a step by step guide on this as im ammmm sort of a noob at it.. lol yea sort of a 1st timer at this never done it before cant wait to try though...

Awww...too bad skins are secret i.e only player can view.It would be cool to have it displayed on servers,althought that was going to be kinda of a headache for the admins.

The .DDS copies wont let me convert them in the program DDS Converter.



What am I doing wrong?

So first the Gimp .DDS plugin doesn't work (have it installed, it doesn't work at all) and the DDS Converter doesn't work...

How do you guys this stuff? what am I doing wrong?
