From the patch notes...

Максимальный уровень боев танка «Type 59» увеличен на 1.

The maximum level of the tank battles «Type 59» is increased by 1.

So according to the matchmaking chart for Patch 0.7.1 Test 2 :
Spoiler

The Type 59 has battle tiers 9,10 and 11.

Which is the same as Tier 8 Medium Tanks.

Well guys think. The current matchmaking as of now for the Type 59 is for a Tier 6 Medium. This 1 battle tier increase just makes it go into battles like the rest of the other Tier 8 Mediums.

Lol Garbad... looks like the devs took all those T59 whine threads into consideration...

Now... To think of what I should post for my 1000th post o.O

While thinking ill just edit this post

Edit (So as to not ruin my 1000th post)

To Panther2NZ

When its matchmaking tier is increased, now it has a chance to fight higher tiers just like any old tier 8 medium. And we all know the chances of this is like tier 4s sent into tier 7 fights. 80% of the time.

Good lord they made it get into battles a tier 8 medium might get into. How unfair! Oh wait, it is a tier 8 medium ... nevermind, nothing to see here.  :P

I dont see why it was treated like the KV-5 to begin with, it wasnt as if it was undergunned like the kv-5 for its tier. For shame WG for shame.

I know this was intended as sarcasm but there is a bit of truth to this statement.

The major reason people purchase a premium is to make credits and to make credits, you have to do lots of damage.  This is why the Lowe does so well, it has such a good gun that it does a ton of damage each and every game, even without trying.  The Type 59 and the KV-5 on the other hand, have 61 and 69 respectiviely less mm of penetration.  That is 2.4 and 2.7 inches of steel difference for us Americans.  That being the case, uping the tier on the Type 59 and KV-5 is going to place them in situation where their guns become very ineffective very fast.  175mm of pen against anything higher than a Tier 8 for example, isn't even remotely enough.

So by changing the tiers they will be effectively nerfing the capability of these tanks to earn credits and that is a major problem and a violation of trust between Wargaming and us who have spent real money on a premium tank.

Now I am not saying that they should be moved back down and honestly I don't even have a real issue playing my Type 59 a tier up, however, they need to adjust the amount of credits they earn up so that the change doesn't effect the credit earning potential. For Example if I averaged 15 penetrating hits before at the lower tier and made 40k credits for it, I should still make 40k even if I am only managing 10 penetrating hits at the higher tier.

If they don't then yeah....I might just want a refund.

Absolutely.

This product was thoroughly tested, accepted as "OK" for release, and released for sale for real cash money.

To alter a product that's ALREADY BOUGHT, PAID FOR WITH REAL MONEY, AND OUT THE DOOR is grossly irresponsible and quintessentially unprofessional. They should offer refunds (but they won't...).

And, NO, I don't own one. I won't buy another premium after they 'fixed' the last one that I bought (and sold after finding it's new incarnation somewhat lacking by comparison).

Not true - everyone knows the Type 59 is a tier 8 super-heavy with capabilities not even Chuck Norris can comprehend.

But, I thought that the Type 59 was the love child of Chuck Norris and a IS-4...

You mean the T-44 has an ineffective weapon? What about the pershing that only has 180mm pen. T8 meds are not supposed to engage heavies or high armor tds front on, they are supposed to flank, and with 175mm pen that is plenty to get through the side armor of most tanks.

First thing to remember,  you bought nothing.  You bought a license to use a feature of WoT.  Every MMO has a clause that lets them change any feature in their product.  You agree to it every time a new patch is released. :Smile-hiding:

So what happens when they actually give the stats of the type 59 a small buff to account for its higher tier matchmaking?

They just need to re-adjust the credit earning potential so that it remains the same and its all good.

I'm not saying it was, I'm just putting it out as a hypothetical.  If they change one aspect of the tank (matchmaking) it is entirely possible they may change another.

KV-5 is undergunned, but it has a higher dpm as the IS-3. 8 rpm compared to 5 on the IS-3 with 390 dmg:

KV-5: 2400

IS-3: 1950

In short, you can cripple of not destroy some T10's in a minute with the KV-5. So it really isn't under-gunned.
EDIT: Yes, these shells would all have to pen. Most likely you could rape a T30 in said time if he's busy with another T9 or T10.

I'd be happier if they made the T59 more expensive, but this also works too. I can finally blow them to hell in my IS-4.
