Based on the needs of the British Purchasing Commission the Ram tanks that were being produced were altered to take a 25 pdr. Was very similar to the US M7 Priests. Built by Montreal Locomotive starting in 1943 and finishing in 1945.
The driver was placed on right and gun was offset to the left. There was a hatch on the left side for loading ammunition. The fighting compartment could be covered with a canvas. The gun was installed in a special cradle.
Early vehicles had welded superstructure. Later models had cast nose, towing hook for ammo trailer, auxiliary generator, mounts for AA MGs.
Sexton GPO:
Late 1943 gun was removed and extra radios, map tables, telephone cables, and Tannoy unit were added for gun position officers of Sexton batteries.

well yeah its just a Priest with a 25 pound gun
Actually, not quite. The Americans did try to fit the M7 with a 25pr to suit Commonwealth specifications, but they had great difficulty with the mounting. The Sexton's structure is sufficiently different that they were able to put it into that vehicle.

Yeramba‘s a little ahead of the timeline though, not to mention redundant. Might work as a premium....

Im sure you will see the Sexton on the Commonwealth/British tree when it is introduced. It will probably be after the Bishop, which also used the 25 pdr. While the Sexton resembles the Priest, the Bishop was built on a Valentine chassis but had a monster turret. Real big head that looks to me like a KV2 turret. Im old and not real good with computers or I would attach pix. But I found the stats on wikipedia if anyone is interested in looking.

No they did not.
The Ram ceased production in 1943.
Montréal Locomotive Works began producing the Grizzly meadium tank. literally a modified M4A1 Sherman. When US production of the Sherman was deemed sufficient for Allied armour demands, they switched over to producing the Sexton, using the hull of the Grizzly.
The limited production Mark I Sexton was based on the Ram hull. MLW then switched over to the Mark II, based on the Grizzly.

Of course it looks like a Priest. It's basically a Priest with a 25 pounder.
It was specifically built because the US refused to build an M3 or M4 based SPG with the 25 pounder.
