Am I the only one excited to get his hands on the Centurion? I estimate that it's going to be the Brit's Tier IX medium (on par with it's RL contemporaries in the form of the T-54 and Patton) and it will be the penultimate sniper's tank. Also, it'll be the bane of the T-54 like it was in RL (Arab-Israeli wars, anyone?) and kick serious backside.

So who also wants to get his or her hands on this puppy as soon as possible?

If the Centurion is the mother does that make the T-34 the father?

Rumors are that the alpha tree had the Centurion MK I and the Centurion MK III as tiers 8 and 9 medium tanks, respectively.

LOL I've already got a little over 300k free xp saved and I'll just buy some gold to convert over any I need by the time the british are released. Only way I'll touch any of the french tree is just the normal grinding.

Wikipedia page says the Centurion has a top speed of 34km/h, that's the same speed as most high tier heavies. Can I assume that they will bump the top speed up to between 40-50km/h and power-weight ratio in line with T9 meds for the sake of balance?

I am really looking forward to the Centurion.
However, I am not sure how it will stack up against other tier 9 meds.  It should have superior gun of course, but top speed of 34km/h is a speed of a heavy tank, same as power to weight ratio.  The armor should be good but I think guns at this level mostly will be able to penetrate it.
I hope it will be competitive tier 9 med, but I doubt it will be the best.

Throw speed and power/weight ratio based off historical configurations out the window , the devs have been VERY liberal with what they select as track speed limits, and what engine they give a vehicle.

10,5 cm KwK 45 L/52.

This is the gun that a host of German heavies, which possess the same dimensions (52 calibers and 105mm) as the L7. I expect it will perform slightly better than these guns, but I doubt they will destroy it with nerfs.

I suspect it will be similar to the 10,5cm L/52 and the L/52 ausf.B  - i.e a much superior version used for the tier 9 medium ,

The Pattons 105 is just a US license made L7.

Centurion I to have the 17 pounder and 20 pounder, Centurion III to have the 20 pounder and L7, plus both to have some other guns in the middle for flavour.

actually the T5E1M2 stems from the T5E1 which was just the main gun used on the original T28 in real life...not too sure if there was ever any REAL T5E1M2. The L7 main gun carried the US designation M68. The L7 was the progeny of the QF 20 Pounder (84mm) from Royal Ordnance.

And you guys were right...seems that it too is 52 calibers long. :)

T5 series gun was also carried by T29. T5E1M2 is just dev invented fantasy gun. It's real life counterpart would be the '50s 105mm T140 (mounted on various prototype tanks, the US T54 series mainly).
