Dear tank commanders, I would like to take into consideration this tank as a tank for premium tier 5

Nahuel (Medium Tank Nahuel D.L. 43)

The Tanque 'Nahuel', Modelo DL 43 was a medium tank designed and built in Argentina in 1943. The name means Tiger in Araucano, an native langauge of the south of Argentina. Contrary to what is popularly believed, it was a totally indigenous design, and not a copy of the U.S. M4 'Sherman'. It's design was "inspired" by the M4, but it was not a copy.

Like the M4, the 'Nahuel' was armed with a 75mm main gun, and there was a co-axially mounted 12.7mm, and three hull-mounted 7,65mm machine guns.

This tank had a 5-man crew, and was powered by a 500 hp engine giving it a top speed of 25 mph and a range of approximately 150 miles. It had armor of 80mm maximum.

Specifications:

Crew: 5
Weight: 35,000 Kg
Engine: FMA-Lorraine Dietrich 12 EB, 12 cylinders in W, 500 Hp, water cooled.
Performance: Road: 40km/h
Range: Road: 250km
Length: 6.223m
Width: 2.33m
Height: 2.952m
Armor 80mm (max)  30mm (min)
Armament: 1 Krupp Model 1909 75mm, 1 x 13mm coaxial MG and three 8mm MG.
Manufacturer Arsenal Esteban de Luca in Buenos Aires.
Tracks 76 links

Some sources list this Armament:

Bofors 75/34 M1935

It's like a planed upgrade for the main gun.

For those who like to read in Russian, the wikipedia has very good detail of the armor:

http://ru.wikipedia....%B0%D0%BD%D0%BA)

Incredible to have 80mm in various parts, the most interesting combo is  Mantlet and the front of the turret ( 80mm +80 mm) In addition to the front of the hull with 80mm

There are also some additional data for rounds per minute (20:)) In short there is good info on the Russian wikipedia!

Many thanks for your time

It looks like the bastard child of a Panther and a M4. Squared like the panther and overall M4 like shape xD.

If this would be a premium it would have to be either American or German Why German? because at the time Argentina was a hide out for Nazi high command. but then again it is so similar to the m4 it can't really be decided

Sorry but, Nahuel is made in Argentina, not made in USA, Germany or licenced by some other country (like the Type 59)

Neat, though the gun would be downright horrible even for a premium tank.

Interesting design.  The sloped armour all round is impressive.  Definitely seems like some Soviet influence there, as well as the design of the turret, which has something of the look of the KV-3's upgraded turret to it, and the large forward hinging crew hatches.  Should have some good elevation and depression angles out of it.  The shape overall certainly apes the M4 Sherman, though the suspension looks like M3 Lee units, and the flat panels certainly reflects German construction styles.  Something for everyone there.  A nice gun and it could be very effective indeed.

Not if you made it a teir 4 instead of a teir V. Make it the equivalent of a T28, But instead of that 85, give it armor and the gun from the lee.

That gun would have even less penetration than the original L/30 gun. Both are bloody terrible; the lee gun would be an upgrade. Extrapolating based on the M3 gun & what i've been able to find online about those guns, what those mount are basically the same as the american 75mm howitzer - the one the M2 and M5 stuart get.

Might work as a T4 premium, sorta like a T4 jumbo, I guess.

MMM nice, maybe works like a tier IV better than tier V, or bump the kick from the best gun... for balance ;)

I love the idea, put this tank!.

Nahuel was developed when Argentina couldnt buy foreign weapons cause WWII made all the factorys and armys from our providers be with their efforts in the war.
So, as the Military Airplane Factory, Argentina decided design their own weaponds.
