Hi Jinx:
I was excited to hear that once we could possibly have 5 man platoons which would be great (even if premium) and I guess that never happened. I voted other to put that option since I enjoy the game play with a huge bunch of my friends all at once in the same battles. Even if on the other side because there is no greater feeling than killing someone you know or in your clan that you know is a good player! Its especially fun to play with them and help as a true team player working toward the same goal! To me that would make this game ultimate! This is just not the same thing as a Tank Company as those you are not allowed to think since you are under a commander with orders as opposed to the random anything goes, think on your feet-public matches!
So therefore, my vote is for other-larger platoons would be ultimate fun filled feature or improvement, especially since I have 8 of my real life friends playing this game with me now.
Thanks for asking!

1) A lot less (I mean a lot) influence from the RNG. Zero dmg criticals, overwhelming amount of module only damage, stupid "saving throws" that make you want to punch your monitor due to the bullshit factor. Example: I shot at a batchat in my Patton as he moved behind a rock and I saw the tracer curve through the edge of the rock and score a hit..I'm not kidding, It should have missed.
2) Tighter tier spread for match making ...(tired of trying to damage an E-100/ IS-7 in my panther II)
3) Educate the dumb ass matchmaker that Heavy and medium tanks are not equals....tossing in a couple TD's doesn't make it balanced.
4) Reduction of artillery per match to 3 MAXIMUM even less per match the higher the tier.
5) preferably an "arty free" game mode, but I know this will never happen.
Every player "trying to win as a team" faces disadvantage enough with careless, stupid, unskilled players, and bad personal decisions during a match. The above only compound the overall frustration incurred.

Honestly not sure why I ever voted in this poll. How many patches has it been, and how long have we been asking for a fair MM? Yeah, will never happen, can't believe they even put it as an option.

I'm breaking forum etiquette because I didn't read the other posts before posting... sue me.
I have a hard time understanding how MM works, or is supposed to work. If I'm in a tier 5 tank, I get stuck in a tier 8 battle. If I'm in a tier 8 tank, I get stuck in a tier 10 battle.Can someone explain why we can't have straight tier battles? Why not have light tanks, TD's, and SPG's for each tier? That way, you could have a tier 5 battle period, or a tier 8 battle period, etc. I realize my T 50 is a scout, but it gets a little frustrating being cannon fodder for 4 or 5 battles before being able to actually fight with it for 1 fight.

Just add a "no arty" option and I'll survive the poor MM, spotting oddness, lack of game modes, and zero damage shots. Not that I like those problems, but I want to play a tank game, not hug a rock to avoid the orbital death cannons non-fun game.

I just read through this whole thread without really seeing much on the things that are really wrong with WoT.(I voted other)
-> MM issues, deal with it. You're gonna have a bad time until a seriously large number of people play this game. This is because the matchmaker doesn't have a huge crowd to choose from so it's forced to put people in games where they shouldn't be.
-> Moar game modes: Sure what the hell, but this isn't the most important thing IMHO
Here is what I think are things that make people not like WoT as much as other F2P games: (this is gonna be a longish post)
->No *good* dev/community relations
Honestly I look at the posts on the homepage and the forums and I get this feeling that the devs just don't care about what the players want. Game has been out for years and they have basically added very little important changes. Bugs that have been around for years go unfixing. The MM is the penultimate example of community negligence. People like it when they know that their complaints are heard and acted on. the devs could learn from this
->Paying for Garage slots
Please read this through before you dismiss it as THIS GUYS A NOOB FREELOADER BLAH BLAH BLAH. I bought at least $75 into this game over the course of a year, and I have 18 total garage slots and I own a Churchill(I bought it because it's British then fell in love with the 6pdr) so I've put my precious money into this game, which for a poor college student(I study Software Engineering so I can laugh at this games 'engine') is a huge deal. On to my points. First things first paying for garage slots means that you have to sell your tank to get a new one unless you want to fork out 300gold for another slot. This also means you can only work on a couple of things at a time(money grab) without paying for more slots. This also means that you can't collect tanks and just stare at them for long periods of time or go back and play your old favorite tanks for nostalgia's sake. Or you are like me and hold on to your M4/PzIV/Hetzer because you like having historically accurate tanks. Okay now to the advantages of allowing free or perhaps credit cost(Nothing ridiculous like over 50k) garage slots: This would encourage people to branch out more, and allow them to have more tanks at any given time meaning there is more things for them to do, ergo people are spending more time on this game. Not only that but because you have more tanks, you now have more things to research at once, which means you aren't necessarily grinding one tank at a time now you are grinding several tanks at a time which is even more time consuming. Because of this people are more likely to spend money on this game so they can grind faster because now magically they are spending a hell of a lot more time grinding their 30 tanks at once. All in all it's nothing but win for the developers because they will make more money in the long run from people trying to grind many tanks at once(not to mention premium consumables/ammo/cammo!!!) than a handful of people paying for extra garage slots and the players will be happy because they can have as many tanks as they want.

After reading the MM thread in the forum and constantly experiencing games that I had NO chance of doing anything to the opposition READ: 95% of the games played with tier 5 and 6 US TDs ended up against tier 8 to 10 heavy tanks that comprised over 66% of the battle AND that the TDs couldn't even penetrate the rear armor of those heavies). Having played in over 2000 battles and experiencing the AGONY of constantly bouncing rounds off various parts of the behemoths using every trick found, it gets OVERLY frustrating trying to grind to the next level tanks when you get 200 xp AFTER the 2x win and getting 50-100 xp on the LOSES and TIES.
READ the MM FORUM and head WG. You'll never get a good subsription rate on the NA server if people are quitting BECAUSE of the MM! FRUSTRATED PLAYERS = EX-PLAYERS. Offering more content (game modes, bigger maps and more tanks) is a panacea because in the end, players will quit playing after all of that anyways because they are totally frustrated on having been matched in those new game modes, with the bigger maps having the new tanks and still finding that they are fodder for those same Tier 8-10 tanks.

improved MM, reduced tier spread, same thing i think most on here wish for, maybe a max to how many arty are in a match before the game switches modes to arty party and makes the match only arty and scouts. (1st one more serious, second one less... but still would be funny to see an arty and scout only match.. but seriously an arty limit per match would be nice)
#491 Posted May 05 2012 - 18:33
I really have to add this ...dunno why I didn't before.
Whatever you Dev's did to the track damaging model, please reset it to previous settings (before the 7 series patches)
Tracks get destroyed every time now instead of just damaged as before. It was pretty frustrating before you changed it. Not even repair kits, and having 100% repair skill makes much difference once they turn red, which seems to be every time they get hit regardless of what hits you. All this change has done for the game is cause people to camp more since you can't get across any open spaces before being blasted because the tracks are junk, and cannot be repaired as fast as they once were.

I know I'm new to the game and forum but in real life war you cant pick your opponents armor based on what you might be driving at the time. I wonder during WW2, just how many M3 Stuarts ran through the sights of an ambushing Panther and bought the farm. I think the match maker is fine. Its the strategy and team work thats gonna keep you from getting burned. Teams loose because there's not alot of cooperation or back up. Many times I see all the heavies take off and leave there atillary to fend for them selves or teams not using there artillary to there advantage. This is just my opinion.
#493 Posted May 06 2012 - 09:53
I would normally say match maker, but it seems to have some minor tweaks in 7.3 (even if they are very minor), so I'll wait and see how that feels. Right now, the spotting is a bit annoying, so I'll toss my vote in for the spotting mechanics.

RED SCREEN !!
I get that too on occasion. When one is playing sniping German vehicles, esp TDs, it can really ruin your day.

I was just in 7.2 and in one map (forget which one it was) I got the redscreen when I zoomed-in on my Lee. The next map it was ok, then the one after I was back on the first map and got it again. Weird stuff.

Wargaming will add up all the other votes and decide that since every other option adds up to more than 49%, Matchamker improvement aren't wanted by the community.

You know, you're right. Improved Matchmaker has 925 votes... That's not even half! Meanwhile every other choice combined has 1036. Clearly, "everything other than matchmaker" is a higher priority.
(Some people really do think this way)

It boggles my mind that some people voted for choices other than improving the matchmaker.
