Toasted_rofls started a thread for your best VK-2801 score but this thread is less restrictive.  If you had a fun mission, great score, unusual result, etc in your VK-2801 Cougar, post the pics here!

Here is a fun one I just played.

A Scout Medal, 1 kill and 3 damaged on 7/12 shooting and I took NO damage in return!

It wasn't because they weren't trying to hit me.  Their T-25 seemed intent of destroying my cougar.  He spent the entire fight shooting at me or waiting for me to reappear so he could shoot again.  I think that was one of the reasons they lost; he was so intent on me, he neglected everyone else on the field.  On my first scouting run, I took a long range potshot at him (which barely missed) but he tracked me the rest of the fight determined, I guess, to pay me back.  One of the most effective uses of a Cougar is what I call Disruption Scouting.  You get the enemy so focused on you, they ignore what they SHOULD be doing.  It doesn't show up on any stat line (other than victories) but disrupting the enemy from their plan is one of the things VK-2801 cougars do best!

A good score in my VK-2801 Cougar...

After killing their 2 scouts, I spotted for teamies, then moved in behind a 100% T95 and got him down to 115 hit points.  At that point someone else killed him (grrrr!).  I didn't get credit for the kill but it still gave me a huge amount of exp.

I still wouldn't use them.  I don't think they belong in the game; rather I don't think they should be there at a per use price.  I think they should come free with premium membership.

Here is the film:

NOTE:  Because the film was from 7.0 and not 7.1 when you play it, you will see a pop-up saying it might not work and asking if you want to play it.  Go ahead and play it
- it works fine (at least on my computer it does)

My immediate thought when the battle screen shows was "Prok! Kewl! I love this map!"  Then I noticed the line up...

9 Tier IX and Xs and only 1 as low as a Tier VI !  I suppose a Banzai Rush might have worked to get their arty but, at the present time, my mechanic and I are not getting along so I decided to play more cautiously so I don't have to hang out in the garage too long waiting for him to fix my tank while he smokes his cigar and tells me the same old war stories from WWI he has already told 50 times before.

Here is a video of how the battle went:

I'll tell you now - it's kind of boring (it certainly wasn't for me lat er on when I kept lighting up the T-34 who waiting on me in the middle of the field!) and not much goes on at first.  But after my first few circuits, watch how often someone I expose gets slammed by our arty and/or other tanks.

I only took 2 shots overall (both missed) but still banked about 18K from the run.

We should have the 8cm PAW 600 with HEAT shells standard. It's not like 130-140 avg pen and ~200 dmg is OP in a tier 5 light.

A mission with a decent profit:

I realize some of you say the Cougar is history now that the damage mechanics for the 105mm have changed.  I realize you won't always score hits as hard as you used to.  But battles like this, against all higher tier opponents demonstrate the VK-2801 Cougar is NOT done for; rather it remains a viable force on the WoT Battlefields.
Note, I also took no damage, allowing me to pocket every credit I earned except for restocking my ammo.

PS:  A bunch of 59s tried to overrun our north flank so I was mostly sniping and not dogfighting.

SOLE SURVIVOR
A Top Gun mission.  I started this one off positioning myself to intercept the T-50-2/T-50s, but they never rushed.  I damage a couple of tanks (and miss 1 or 2 shots I should never miss) and then, with our team behind by a couple of kills, things start to get interesting.  With 7 enemy tanks left, I have 0 kills.  With 1 tank left someone asks how many kills Top Gun is and someone else wants me to cap.  I think the team was split the same way I was - go for Invader or Top Gun?  I decided to cruise and find the last tank because I needed to get the first hit and circling the cap area would have given him the first shot if he went to the cliffs overlooking two sides of their cap area.  circling in a 2801 = slower speed - not a good thing when you can't take much more damage.

Luck prevails as much as skill in this one, but it was fun to play!

Here is a 2K xp Steppes mission.  I thought we were doomed at first because, even after completing my first 1/2 court sweep to the right, 1/2 the team was still stuck in their starting spot.  In my first kill, I let a fellow Cougar trap himself hunting for arty on our right flank, then I end run the left flank and use a great spot by a TD to kill one their 2 arties.  I jump the tracks thinking their 2nd arty is there, too but he isn't.  I hop back over the RR and find myself in a 1 on 2 with a Slugger and a M3 Lee.  I circle and am killing the Lee, but am taking too much damage so I exit, unknowingly heading straight for their other arty.  He dies quickly and just then a TD appears ahead of me.  I approach his rear and then stay close on his side/rear to finish him off.  NOTE:  I don't stay right against him.  Blast him cheek to cheek and sometimes your HE damages yourself.  With the TD dead, only the slugger remains.  I figure he'll be waiting on a frontal assault, so I go back up the left flank and sweep across the row of rocks/bushes guarding their base.  Before he can get his gun on me, I spot him and close for the kill, ending the game,

I just killed an IS7 with my derp.

Long story short : I was playing "hide behind the big guys" when I saw an opportunity to make a dash into the IS-7's rear. I landed 2 derp hits in it's weakspot and boom dead guy.

Kewl!  The T-50-2 one ups us on sheer full speed scouting but when it comes to killing, the Cougar is outstanding.  You get the rear on anything on the field and you can score good hits.
