lol one did yeah. The same tank was used in the vietnam war afterwards too.

The atomic tank

The in-game centurion tank should have a +50% resistance to arty. :P

Knowing the devs, it will probably be an aggressive support tank.  <_<

I'm guessing it will be somewhat of a mix between Patton and E-50.

Slow top speed (the most major con), decent mobility (probably better turner than E-50), slightly worse armour than T-54, decent-good soft attributes, decent-good accuracy and good damage (the most major pros). Possibly better penetration than on the classical 3 tier 9 meds.

It will be nice tank for randoms, but not really useful in CW and the like.

And it will be a medium, of course, so this is the wrong forum. ;)

What he said. No real use in CW, but good for pubs, like the E-50 is.

i dont know, with the 20lbr this should be a penultament sniper tank... seeing as in korea and vietnam this model was used to put rounds through the view ports of bunkers at extended ranges, it's possibilities at regeristing hits on modules at range should be rather annoying.

Then again, we have upgraded Panthers running around with stadiameters and whatnot as the most accurate tanks at the moment. Pretty safe to say that such what-if gear would have been quite accurate as well. 20 pounder is unlikely to be penultimate sniper gun regardless, as it's quite certainly going to be limited as effective weapon past tier 8 (small caliber, and not that high penetratio).

20 pdr is about equal to the 8.8cm L/71 in most characteristics. Slighly higher penetrating and probably more accuracy, but possibly with slightly less damage.

L7 will probably be the penultimate sniper.

It started with a 76mm (17PDR),then to 84mm(20pdr, then to the 105mm and with the 150mm frontal armor armor it screams tier 8 heavy. While on par in every respect to the Tiger ll in game  we are all well aware that Wargames likes to upgun everthing and I have a feeling when we see British tanks released the Centurion will pack a 120mm and fall into the tier 9 rank.

when it comes online I will start grinding for it. I hope they don't screw it up too bad when they nerf it up though. after all it was not "made in the soviet union".

It's gonna be an Epic sniper tank, if you want to know why, just ask the Egyptians and the Syrians.

I do hope its a sniper. We all know the KT is the sniper you do not duel with at extended ranges,it will bounce incomming and put shots right where it wants them. I hope the Centurion matches or exceeds this capacity.

First of all...it'll be tier 9 MEDIUM!!!! Not a heavy....though I expect that it'll be slower than the other T9's...beecause it's top speed was on par w/the M26...which was in production at the early part of its life.

I hope that the Centurion(and the british tree) will be a frontline tank. For the moment only the Russians are great for frontline, Americans and germans are mostly support. I hope to see British will be tanks that leed the assault.
