Y'know, the later centurions will have the same gun as the m48, and 1 degree more depression.

In real life they were let down by their transmissions, if the driver missed a shift the tank had to stop to get into gear, the brakes alone could only stop the tank on level ground, spoke to a old sergeant I knew in the BAOR that missed a shift, slide down hill on wet cobbles and ruined the local mayor's front garden, which the regiment had to fix.

So Pro's:
Accuracy
Armor... I think it was 150@60, which would make it the bounciest med in the game
Gun Depression
Good hill climber (as seen in Korea)
Just straight sexy

Cons:
landscaping
stall's at red lights

I think I can live with that

M48:

Centurion early(tier8):

Centurion late(tier9):

And I believe both of them are slower than American counterparts(Just like modern Challenger and M1 Abrams MBT).

Wait the centurion we are discussing is the Tier IX or tier X variant?

slow ish armoured medium with what i expect and sorta hope will be more like the t62a's gun a lower damage higher rof style, on a slower heavy med with good gun depression. Its a tank that's not out there yet.

in any case i think i'll want one ;)

missed shift was called a mexican overdrive.
They were gone from our use by the time I served.
My F-I-L served on them with the FGH in Germany in the 60's and the 8CH in canada.

3 guys were killed in Canada at CFB gagetown when they missed shift going down hill and the tank got away and flipped over in a ditch. The Gasoline spilled on to the hot exahust and the tank burned.

they were tough but we used ours way too long and they did not get replaced until the mid 70's and had to be towed on and off the firing pads at ranges.
The crews loved them due to all the space in side for living gear. The new Leopard C1 seemed cramped..

I doubt that Tier 9 cent will have gun performance similar to M68(although they should be the same) 268 pen in Tier 9 medium is just...amazing! I guess the L7 on cent will have make up AP for silver rounds...while the 268 pen APDS round will cost gold...hope that WG will prove me wrong :Smile_mellow:

should be the exact same basic gun in game. the RW difference is the source of the ammo used. I posted a link in these forums with Ammo stats. there is a wide variety of performance specs for the L7 rounds. I hope they just leave it as the M68 stats as it should be the same gun for game purposes and the cent was a more stable gun platform recoil wise.

Well I think we can expect the same performance out of the l7 and the m68, as the m68 was the same gun.

hmm thought I said that.. the ammo is the difference and some had different fire control set ups.
