I sold this arty a while ago because of MM issues but they fixed it now and i think about getting it back.

Is it worth the credits compared to the other t8 arties?

I've had this Schlepwagon for over a week now.

Even when I win on a premium account it makes very little money.

It's gun seems not much better than the GW Tiger. It's  also an absolute pig to drive.

I'll stick with it for a while longer and see if the track upgrade helps. If not, so long upper tier arty.

It isn't like the other arty it doesn't get more damage with its gun but it gets better accuracy and rof. The skirt armor is even more powerful with the patch. I personally think it is good I've played all the tier 8 arty with at least 50 or so battles on the T92. I like the T92 but having to wait 6-7 seconds for it to aim in and then sometimes even missing with the splash gets annoying. On the other hand the 261 has a crappy arc rather and lower damage in my opinion the only thing it has going for it is accuracy. I also believe it should get APCR instead of gold HE rounds because 7 meters really isn't that much when your trying to blanket a area with rounds.

I might also be bias with over 600 games in it.

The Type E is the best all-around tier 8 arty in the game with the added bonus of being the most 'survivable' to counter battery fire.

I own both the Type E and the 261 and played the T92 American arty on my friends account.  The Type-E wins hands down.

why would you use tier 8 arty in pugs? theyre mainly for clan wars/companies, definitely not a way to make money.

It can be fun to do with friends or clan mates getting 3 tier 8 arty in a platoon can be very fun and well rather effective.

It's not meant to make money. It's the arty equivalent of a tier 10 heavy or a tier 9 medium. The system is designed to cost you money running them.

It would be nice in this game if you got more of a reward for having a tier 10/end tier then it being more of a burden to run after playing so long to get to it. Just a thought from me and some clan members.

well, currently the reward is you get to compete in clan wars and earn gold you dont have to pay for.

I'm forced to agree.  t8 arty and t10 heavy tanks / t9 mediums really have no business being played in Random Battle.  Random Battle is a grinding tool to get to those levels.  But once you're there, you really need to take those vehicles and go do CW or the new Absolute TC Battle with them.

Personally, I think that's one of the big problems of Random Battle.  Too many folks take those vehicles and go do Random.  And it just mucks it up for everyone else.  I see way too many Random Battles that look like CW matches.

I had a battle in Random the other day in my IS-4.  I was in the middle of the pack.  There were 4 arty on each side; all t8.  I felt sorry for the t7 and t8 players that got thrown into that.  They died very quickly.

Excuse me, but the general consensus is that ever since 7.0, nobody hits poo poo with artillery anymore. Even the GwPanther is missing shots. The loving Panther, for God's sake.

That said, .49 accuracy shouldn't be bad for any mildly-experienced artillery user. You'll hit 60% of your shots if they're at 600m or less, possibly more, if you lead your targets and pay attention to distances and speed and whatnot. And avoiding counterbattery isn't really hard. So yes, the GW Typ E is a wonderful experience and fun to play.

e: Antonio's Challenge: Let's All Put Spall Liners On Our Typ E's And See If It Helps Reducing Counterbattery Damage. Reply with the results of the experiment. Needs to follow the scientific method. Thanks.

That makes no sense.  How else are you supposed to grind the modules of the Tier 8 arties, if not in randoms?  Are you going to bring a stock arty, or better yet, a stock tier 9 medium into a clan war?

I'm open to the idea that they're less accurate, but I honestly haven't noticed my arty getting any less accurate. General consensus doesn't mean anything, people are happy to buy into perceptual bias if it suits them so I'm waiting for actual developer notes on accuracy reduction. Until then it's pure speculation.

The system has been that way for mostly every tier 8+ tank. Earn little credits or no credits at all, and play it to grind to another tier. Im currently grinding the GW Tiger atm and Im starting to regret the grind to the Typ :(

I quite like my GW Tiger. While I love my GWP, it's nice to finally play an arty that can really throw its weight around, especially with the mighty 210mm Morser. Even with the reduced income, with a premium account you only have to land three hits and you've broken even. Anything past that and you're making pretty good cash.

One of the main reasons is to LVL up your crew and get experience playing that thing, know best spots, get best angles etc.

Its possible to do that on company battle but random is a lot faster.
