The British tree will have more tanks and vehicles that actually existed and served than any other tree. Suggesting British tanks will be lumped together with the rest of Europe is showing a bit of ignorance. The rest of Europe is going to be the likes of Italy, Hungary, Sweden and Poland.

As for when, I agree with the first reply, let's say 8.0 and assume 2012 Q4 at the earliest.

Im new to WoT but being an Englishmen playing a WWII game, i would of thought British, German & Russian tanks would of been the main tanks in this game. I don't believe Chinese tanks featured in the European war & French tanks was technically built by the British so why include those 2 & not British is a serious oversight.

But i love this game, not been on my BF3 yet the wife got me for xmas as been loving this :D

The Chinese tank was politics, for the Chinese server.

American tanks came before British tanks for marketing - Americans like to play games where they can play as Americans, and get very upset and confused when they can't. For any game company that wants to turn a profit, that's a very important market.

France before Britain? Who knows? I know a guy who suggests it was because French tanks with oscillating turrets and autoloaders were better able to offer a new style of gameplay than British tanks, which would be much more similar to the German and American tanks already ingame.

The WoT cover tanks from post/late-WW1 up to the 1950's (Korea War period)

I would truly love to see British tanks in the game.I remain in a bit of a "WTF?" stance that France was(or "will be" when ever WG pulls their heads out of their bottoms)added before the British.

At this rate I would not expect to see the British enter this game until mid 2013...and that is a damned shame. <_<

Well considering they probably will be adding the German TD's, along with the Russian tank before the British... I would say quite some time. Maybe end of 2012, but more likely 2013.

Well, they did say mid year (For 2012) doubt that though. Seeing how long its taken to get the US tanks and TD's...them doing the french tanks took around a year I think, and that was only two lines. No centurion for noble.  :(

Sounds like something we should make a betting pool off of.

We will be getting the French in a few days, Once the tree revisions and additions go though, and we have one or two game modes, you can probably expect to see news of British tanks popping up.  That being said, I'd think about this time next year.

Well I remember reading some where it takes them about 6 months to make a tank but I guess it really comes down to how far along they are with the Russian Heavy tree and the 3 new TD lines for all we know these may already be underway and would could see the British in Winter but im not holding my breath.

Another thing is if any engine changes come up between then and now which could put them on halt.

Pretty close, actually. I remember a developer posting up somewhere, prior to the patch even being close to complete, that they wanted to release the French tanks first because they were quite different compared to everything else, and no other games had really given French tanks any love.

Mind you, that's not a direct quote and it's old enough that I don't even remember where the source is so you'll have to forgive me on that account.

Lol, my question for the British line is what is going to be their paradigm?  High pen snipers like Germany? Surely they wont be brawlers like Russia, the armor on most their tanks is quite pitiful.  The Comet and all them are armored like Shermans...Their Centurion is about the only tank in their line id be afraid of and even then only the really late version...

In Men of War they have a Centurion that has only 67mm of sloping armor on the Hull and 163 on the turret and then armed with a 17Lber......I want to see the Centurion the Isrealis used with 120mm on the hull and a 105mm..thats a tank worthy of calling a T9 or 10..

Devs stated British tanks will have heavy armour. The Churchill and Black Prince can likely both get 152mm of frontal armour, the Matilda has the armour we see in the Soviet premium but a tier lower, and the rest of the heavy line will probably share these traits. Cruiser/medium tanks are going to be fast probably (expect for the Centurion, which is almost a heavy), but the Cromwell may still get 101mmof front armour at tier 6. I can see the Centurion I playing a lot like the Panther II personally.

SO they are going to make the British all frankentanks then?  THe Cromwell had like Sherman armor, the Crusaders have like tinfoil for armor....Only their Churchill, later Centurions and Matilda have any decent armor...

Not really. Later Cromwell marks (VII I think?) featured 101mm of front armour, and did see action. Valentine also was no slouch in the armour department. Valiant probably wasn't either.

Look at the heavy line. Matilda has as much armour as a Char B1, but all around rather than just in front. Churchill has anywhere from 114mm-152mm of armour. Black Prince has 152mm. No idea about A-45, but I assume it was also heavily armoured. The next heavy that I can't spell (Ceamervon?) has a Conqueror hull if I recall correctly, and the Conqueror has 130mm-180mm (conflicting sources) @ 60 degrees.
