So its the first day of 7.1 and I thought I would take my T2LT out to feed on some new frenchies and Tetrarch's. I scream straight down the middle of Ruinsberg and fall in behind a Hotchkiss H35 and prepare to unload about a hundred or so into his rear armor. I get off 3 bursts of 5 and then nothing. I thought at first my gun was damaged but I hadnt been hit. Look down at the ammo count and its only halfway to loading another 15? I had no idea that they were goin to mess with gun on this tank. Its pretty much useless now becuse the rapid fire of the pew pew gun was the only way to damage let alone kill anything. I guess now its race in at 72kph do 5hp's worth of damage then hide for 20 secs til I can shoot again. Did they do this to all the lil guns on the game?
Moved to American light tanks.

All "autocannons" are now subject to auto-loader rules. patchnotes.
Automatic and semiautomatic guns transferred into a new system of auto-loading multi-round mechanisms

H35 seems to be invincible against the 20mm Hispano. I'm really hoping that I can fly up to one, unload my mag and watch as the tank is ripped apart. Still, this doesn't seem to be the case. The rear of the Hotchkiss seems to be solid. The view ports on the front of the tank seem impenetrable too. The D1 seems the same. I'm stumped.
[edit] The 20mm can at least penetrate the front view port on the D1 but it's tiny so you have to get up close and hope that they don't move around. I wouldn't recommend trying it unless you are 1on1.

On the D1 I tried the right rear corner on it - got about 20% health off it used about 75 rds before he killed me.

Okay I have a T2 LT, 100% crew, high cameo skill and here is my take on the change that is pick your shot bursts. Face it your not a killer your job is to harass the enemy, hit and run, do what damage you can at vulnerable targets and be a royal pain in the rear end. So my advice do what we do best in them and use your gun when its likely your going to hit.
And for the French tanks over the FT-17 don't waste your time, go around and find something you can hurt somewhat your better than they are on speed and maneuvering if your on your game your going to be a nightmare yet.
I found sometimes the best thing you can do is cap the enemy base and when they send the big guns back - run! If you can keep anything back from advancing you help your team and if they are worried about you or better obsessed with you then you help your team.

I hate the change my T2 is useless as I see it now.. 7.25 (100% crew and Vent) seconds to reload the clip come on please I can reload a 30 round mag by hand faster than that and I'm sure these are preloaded. Now let's compound that by adding in the French tanks that are built like a brick (insert bodily deposits while sitting and reading here) house that you could do more damage too by throwing rocks than you can the 20mm and it has really screwed up the lower tiers. Almost every battle I have been in in the tier 1 and 2 have come down to H35's and D1's slugging it out which takes forever because they have a hard time killing themselves and the quick fun battles are a thing of the past.
Used to be Lees and the occasional Hetzer were my nightmares now it is the French tanks that are like watching slugs crawl up a wall...

Ok, odd man out but
I do like the change!
Firstly, this is how the gun is meant to be. It's a box fed large caliber machinegun.
Secondly, the style the gun works with fits the tank better. Burst, harass, then run.
And even still a 3 round burst with 15 shots per box is easier to control your shots.
Means higher accuracy overall compared to the 5 round bursts before.
I've also found I'm actually able to get more shots off total because even with the longer box load, there's about no delay in the bursts if you don't want one. I think once you get the hang of it, it's better this way.

On the plus side, if you do find a tank you can hurt with your ridiculous RoF they'll likely be dead before they can respond.
As for the French tanks, your 20mm autocannon doesn't have enough penetration to hurt any from tier 2 up. You have a chance against the stock turret of the D1 and maybe some weakpoints but I wouldn't bother. Use the fact that none of them have any speed and just harass them a bit then run away.

What I like about the change: can unload a cassette faster and more accurately than before
What I don't like about it: pretty much have to stop and aim which leaves you a heck of a lot more vulnerable to nearby enemy tanks

Tanks junk now.The gun that was on it before was much more effective. Why did they have to change this little tank ????/ I don't agree with the changing of premium tanks.Players buy tanks for the way they are and its a rip off to change the tank after the fact.

Holy CRAP! This is the biggest buff ever to the T2 light. I just took 25% off of a M-10 in 3 seconds or so. then went on to kill a 10% panzer 4 and do a number on several other tanks. Quite honestly, the new feature fits the T2's playstyle exactly. You can't stop with the T2. Or if you do, it HAS to be very brief. Now I can run up, unload 15 rounds into somebody's arse, and run like the dickens. Normally, that would take me 10 seconds or more. That's time to get me killed. Now in 3 seconds, I can do the same damage and still play to the tank's strength (IE: running like hell). This little guy just got WAY better. Thank you WG!

The ROF boost is ridiculous and the reload isn't bad. The T2LT never had good pen, but what it can pen, it will kill qicker than ever before.
#-7 Posted Jan 06 2012 - 08:16
This is a good thing. I feel like Al Capone or something driving by spraying up the tanks with the slugs then driving away really fast...
#-6 Posted Jan 06 2012 - 08:22
the new 20 mm on the T2 light is so much better than the old one.... seems you dont know how to use the tank than. first game today got 7 kills in it with the new auto cannon. and still averaging 3 kills a game with it.

Tips for firing the new Autocannons:
click faster, mash the mouse button repeatedly to fire off the shots faster

I actually though I was suffering from severe lag when my lil pew pew gun stopped firing as it done before ,I was bashing the LMB like crazy and nothing..took me a while to finally realise that it was reloading.
Still its still such a fun little tank to play and suppose I'll just need to get used to it and get back to terrorising the enemy

I'm the minority. I LUV the belt fed 50 cal. I do not engage h35 or d1 or pz38. Everything else is fair game and I have killed 2 tanks with one belt. I only hunt what I can kill and run from the rest. I can cross the map and flank easily and I giggle like a school girl when I unload a belt of 50 cal. As for reload, it takes a while but the .50 cal in my tank in 1980s took awhile to reload also and I know that because I was the TC reloading it. A platoon of these can reap the whirlwind. SLAP ammo for the win (saboted light armor piercing).
