so each player can only choose 1 category, either defend or capture?
can i enter both categories using the same 3 battles on each category if they have both capture and defence points.
or for each battle you submit to like eg base defense, the same battle cannot be resubmit for the capture base category?

I'm curious as to why Kolobonav's medal does not count? Also, at 401 MVP points if anyone is curious as to what the standard will be. I'm thinking anything over 420 will place

just so i don't mess up my first time doing this. So if you destroy 2 tanks its 4 points spot 5 its 10 points. so on so on

spotting is only worth 1 point. damaged and killed tanks are 2.
EDIT:
Oh geez.
Gaea, is there any way to get the garage information for a battle if you closed world of tanks?
I went to check the video to calculate my points (which requires closing WoT), and after I calculated, I realized I didn't take a screenshot of my garage screen.
It was a really great battle too. Is there any chance it could still be counted, or would I definitely have to re-do a battle?
I can give u the exact time the battle occurred
.
EDIT2:
Gaea, while you said you entries must all be focused on a category (capture or defense), can you submit entries for both categories?

The pz38 is good to get "honest" results, since you can own the whole enemy team yourself when it is down to just you, then cap before the last enemy can.
I don't think it is possible to get too many more points than what I managed in this match. The MVP total is 139:
100 cap - 100
9 destroyed - 18
1 damaged - 2
10 spotted - 10
+topgun - 3
+scout - 3
+invader - 3
total = 139
If I had 3 matches this good, I'd have 417 points.
The problem is that it take a LOT of luck to get a match like this, not just skill. The enemy has to do exactly what you want them to do, and your team has to do exactly what you'd want, too.
Which made me think: as long as you had a company with a bunch of your friends, who were co-operating to help you max your MVP score, getting results like this would be very easy. The rest of your team could simply let you get invader, and let you get kills/hits on the enemy team so that you'd get top gun/confederate. It might not work every time, but it might take 5-10 matches to end up with 3 where you had over 135 MVP score.
So once I realized that, it goes without saying that this WILL happen, and people will get set up for top MVP by their friends. So I stopped bothering trying to get any more high scores.

Thats why I think the "mvp point" system is broken. It encourages HORRIBLE game play. Ok so basically I have to charge to the front lines to try and get first spots. Hit as many people as I can without regard to damage or killing them. Have just enough of an impact on the game where I can defend by myself. Go back to base and find a corner. Kill remaining team off the flag.
BRING BACK EXP
wow you actually get more points for hitting higher tanks? WOW
you get something for ACTUALLY hurting a tank, as it stand now a damaged track is 2 points. So damaging a track is the same point wise as doing 2800 damage and taking down a MAUS.
I don't like how these contests are so luck+time based. It takes me 10+ games just to find one with a situation in which I could actually make some decent MVP points. yet EVERY SINGLE game has possibility for high exp.
the current system is asinine and luck based where you want to be a higher tier possible then everyone you are playing. It's just needed for battle hero's... You will not get 5 battle hero awards being the bottom tank on the list but you could get more exp than the Tier 9 who can lord over all the tier 8's and WILL get the battle hero's.

kaltes: frankly, if you get 3 100capture matches, I'm pretty sure you'd place right away.
But yes, I do find these to be completely luck based. And whoever spends more time will win, not whoever is more skilled :/
I'd personally prefer a highest XP in a tank system over this MVP point system as well.

how to get max mvp in only 3 battles: go to company battle, work with the opponent team and yours. everyone use he round to track each other to get 15 damaged tanks in each own flag to get 100% def points then let 1 go to enemy flag to cap 100% at the same time and get draw game.
no top gun but most will get defender award. 133 for everyone. done in 45min. can submit for both def and cap(for those that get 100% invader). use only detected to get point different. you dont want 30 people to share 1 prize.

i cannot believe the amount of trying to find the way around the rules here...
i submitted 3 battles and then came to this thread, and found i wont even have a chance because players are just finding ways around all the rules to win this contest...makes me a little sick.

There's nothing wrong with the MVP point system per se, but rather the relative distribution of points awarded for activities, like spotting vs damaging/destroying tanks. It took me about a minute to realize the Defender category will all but certainly be won by T-50-2s playing thus:
1) running an early scout pattern;
2) plinking as many tanks as possible;
3) "hiding" until the friendly base is getting capped;
4) running circles around the cap for 100% defense points.
No other tank comes close to doing this as efficiently as the 50-2 and no other strategy will come close to approaching the MVP points this will generate and it's because of two factors:
1) losses can be submitted;
2) relatively high proportion of points from scouting.
Every so often the above strategy will win the match, but much more often it will generate high scoring losses that are valid submissions. For those that think an XP based contest would somehow be better, they might want to consider that the tier 5 lights can quite readily produce 3k+ base xp on a match with gold rounds. The odds of out-xp'ing even a decent tier 5 light driver with something other than a tier 5 light is next to negligible. It's not clear to me that having MVP contest play dominated by tier 5 lights is desirable.
A bit better distribution of points would be something like 1 point per spot, 3 points per damaged tank, and 4-5 points per kill. This would reduce the necessity of getting the early scout run on recent contests and the "plinking every tank once" syndrome.
I've been running my T34 lately so I don't have an entry for this contest, but good luck to those competing.

Last time exp was used there was a Light, TD, Med, Heavy, SPG category. Instead of 1st - 5th place prizes why not a first in every category?

if losses are allowed it'd still be good if victories are awarded extra points.

Just wondering what some of the combined scores were for those who sent in their info? I had base capture and total pts were over 275. Probably not good enough but it was fun.

had not enough time to try. oh well, was worth a shot
. did it on my own in the random battles (everyone probably wishes they can cap base alone
) with no favors or anything had a big break in one of the matches but from the looks of it, pretty evident I won't be on the win list.

Funny Desdichado,
That was the exact same strategy I figured would work for the T-50-2.
I didn't want to grind my T-50-2 until I get 3 battles like that though. However, I was curious and tested it - had 1 battle for that which got 121 points doing that exact strategy.
The problem mainly is that you need a team that will screw up. I don't play to lose (a bit too competitive for that).
Plus, I was more focused on leveling up my AMX 13 90 than on this contest, so my entries probably won't get any award, but I'll submit them later.
Omega: you realize the contest isn't done yet
there's still 5.5 hours.
