For my computer, the folders/files are in:

C:/Games/World_of_Tanks/res....etc

Also, you can right click on your Desktop shortcut for W.o.T., then click Properties. This will show you the Target of the shortcut. All your files will be where the .exe file is.
l the folders thru game/worldoftanks

i am playing with 55-70 fps on average. how the hell do u guys play with 20-30 fps, let alone 5-10fps and still feel contended with it. anyway i read about a post(which i just cant find) that mentioned something about tweaking some settings that allows a 32-bit system to increases ram usage for WoT, which by default only allows for 2/3gb of ram. i have 6 gb on my machine and wants to utlise more of it.

Any1?

DISCLAIMER YOU ARE DOING ALL THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT MIGHT HAPPEN, UNLESS IT WORKS THAN YOU CAN SAY THANK YOU :D

Also if you really need to boost FPS you can remove some file: .....

1st let me say TTTTTHHHHHHHAAAAANNNNNNKKKKKK YOOOOOOUUUUU!!!!!!!!! and
2nd:
--- maybe add something about the WOT tweaker program AND about how to disable foliage sway like from this post how to {FULLY} disable foliage sway

edit note: i did see that WOT Tweaker removes plant sway BUT it doesnt fully disable it like the post mentioned above does =)

I know that most might not be watching this thread, but I'll throw out these questions anyway.

Why is it that some xml files can be seen quite nicely in Notepad, while others have all kinds of symbols and don't resemble the nice ones at all, making it impossible to edit?

Is there a way to edit those "not-so-nice" xml files?

Thanks.

Because you can put a lot of different thing in a xml, including binary data. There is a way to edit those data, but just mentioning it on this forum may end in a ban.

Also if you really need to boost FPS you can remove some file:

REMOVING CLOUDS:
Find the following folder WOT=>Res=>Maps=>Skyboxes and rename Skyboxes for example as Skyboxes2

REMOVING FIRE AND SMOKE FROM BURNING TANKS:
Find the following folder WOT=>Res=>particles=>Tank
Rename the files containing the following in their names
Explosion
Fire
Flaming
Add number 2 to the name (i.e. fire_12/fire_22/fire_32 etc.)

REMOVING SMOKE FROM TANK EXHAUST
Get to World_of_Tanks_closed_Beta\res\particles\Tank

Find files engine_exit_diesel and engine_exit_gass

Replace them with files attached to this post. Don't forget to save somewhere the original files.

I am in WOT=>Res=> but there is no maps or particles under it, when i enter the Res folder it shows the following files: audio, content, gui, helpers, influx, packages, scripts texts. There are also 4 xml, two of them have locks over them and loginapp_wot.pubkey Yeah i'm getting further but I keep finding more problems that I face as I do. Thanks for all the help.

Yeah I have a lower end medium laptop that is about 3 years old, so it has trouble running the game. The other tips got me up to about 10 fps though, which is probably the minimal for me to be able to play with any chance of doing well. Yeah the explosions are awesome btw :)

These are my current settings, I accessed this from User: folder for admin account: AppData: Roaming: wargaming.net: WorldofTanks: opened preferences.xml in notepad. I don't know what else to do, my fps is at 4. Every time I change them and reenter the game, it changes them back to these settings. I don't know what is causing this. This happening is terrible and I don't even have a chance of playing the game like this. Many of the tips and options that people listed in the forums are not able to be implemented due to new patches. Please help me and post anything that I'm able to do now to improve my fps. Thanks you for your help.
