I'd be interested in knowing how veteran 45 drivers deal with the rear turret.

Seems it would make urban combat very difficult, you need to bring your entire tank  in front to turn the corner, or you come in from the rear and expose your weak armor.

When ducking out of cover to fire, do it backwards. The rear half of the side armor is the same strength as the front half. Plus you're not exposing your engine or long lengths of your tracks or hull or giving your enemy ample warning. If you get tracked before you get your gun out, your going to take a lot of damage without being able to respond. Atleast if your tracked going backwards, your gun will still be able to fire and you won't have most of your hull exposed to the enemy. Plus also the very back edge of the sides are tapered inwards which if used right will give you a deflection bonus. And since you reverse slower your aim is effected less and you can use forward to quicky pop back into cover. Also if they're using autoaim, then your mid section will still be behind cover, where their gun is aiming.

NOTE don't use this method if a enemy has a good chance of firing on the rear plate of your tank.

Does anyone actually and consistently profit with the vehicle using the 10,5 or 12,8?

Even if I don't take too much damage shell costs murder me. And using the 88 long is rather pointless against all the Super heavies.

i nearly always brake even with the 12.8 (including ammo costs) you have to play smart though , hide behind solid objects from arty , dont go rushing forward leading a charge etc.

in a good game i can make 20-40k, with the standard turret you probably wont even cover your repair costs, i didnt try the other two although the 10.5 L68 has 225 penetration so might be worth trying out seeing as it fires a good chunk faster than the 12.8.

you really need to find out where the weak points are on IS-4 & IS-7 , try not to fight them alone :P

im not sure on the best weak spots but the lowest part of the hull at the front is a darker color and seems a good place to hit at close range , against IS-7 i always did well hitting directly on the front of the tracks doing 20% hits.

AVG experience per battle for me 642 on my statistics.

i can only guess the average cash per battle and it would probably be very close to 30k the most ive ever done i think was 66k (all with premium , without premium and playing smart you could probably break even on average but need another tank as a money maker)

Mine was 690 and 68% damage ratio and I still had difficulty making profit consistently.
I suppose your not mean to though I guess.

Making the 20k in repair costs isn't hard.
I covered my repair costs in 90% of the games.

It's the other 15-20k in ammo...

Are you factoring ammo costs into your "earnings"

I make about 40-50k a match this is with premiem tho and i use the best gun.
If i die i lose 17k and my ammo cost is also about 17k per round but i still make a profit.

yea i was factoring ammo in.

with the 12.8 you only fire 4.68 rounds or whatever it is a minute so generally you only get 1-2 shots off at any targets.

most of those games went pretty bad though :(

big profits if you live obviously , when im on with platoon buddies in there heavy tanks and we stick together i usually get 40-60k from a game with half or more beeing profit, random people dont do much team work which makes trying to earn money in something thats got a big target on it really difficult sometimes

68% damage ratio, 690 avg xp, many sniper awards etc and somehow I didn't make much money at all with the vehicle but you all do, despite the high ammo+repair.

I guess I must bow to you all superior skill and tactics. /rolleyes

noone ever claimed they made much money....
people claimed you can make money and generally break even everygame even on a loss

i cant prove i make money because logs can be forged but heres a screeny of my stats showing ive pretty much only ever drove VK45 since the soft whipe and im not bankrupt.

the experience > cash ratio is out of whack massively though ive almost got enough exp for maus yet if i didnt buy the heavy tank i would only have made 1.5mil in the time its taken me to earn 190k exp

Also new in this tank and so far I find selling my awesome KT a bit disspointing. I can blame it on poor experience I invested so far so maybe later it will get better.
Since I really want to make it worth playing I would like you to throw in some thoughts on the three tank upgrades you use or recommend to use. And say something if they are worth it. :)

Kingtiger is a much more enjoyable tank to play than the VK45 or maus.

Did anyone experience sudden increase in engin fire with VK45, Iw got one shooted many times even by T34-85. And I had fire extinguisher and 2 of my crew members had firefighting skills 85%. My VK45 still blows up right away when it catches fire

That's because its engine is in its mid-section, the part that is targeted by auto-aim. I take it you are trying to stop-and-go shoot from cover by going out nose first as opposed to rear first?
