well this is good news for all the complainers out there... Kinda sucks for people that want a good prem tank that will generate credits

LOL!!! It's similar to what they did to the Lowe, except you can still buy the Lowe.
Expect to see more T59's over the next few weeks than you have ever seen before.

Guess we'll never here the end of it from those players that feel it's the "OP Monster" of the Century...
Already spreading the word to "buy now while supplies last"...

This decision has been made to ensure a healthy gameplay balance at higher tiers, and also to encourage a wider variety of tier 8 medium tank usage.
If you want to reduce the number of Type 59s in battle and increase the number of Pershings, Panther IIs, and T-44s then you need to increase their credit generating ability. Players don't want to have to farm credits with just a single tank. They prefer to have variety but you hamstring them by making the regular tier 8 mediums high risk low reward to use for credit generation as compared to the "Type I don't have to try too hard".
People need a ridiculous amount of credits to buy content after having spent time grinding a ridiculous amount of xp....
What did you expect when you created a tank that would generate insane amounts of credits? Oh wait the Lowe did that... and you did it again with the Type 59...
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
I expect that in a few months you will create another premium monster and the player base will get one and use it all the time too...
How about letting me make my Pershing and Panther II "premium" (Premium in the sense that they have a great credit multiplier like the Type 59)?

Sounds like the folks at war gaming needed some extra bar money. Nothing like a limited availability offer to sell massive amounts of goods.

The cynical side of me says it's a ploy for getting a ton of sales in the next few days, while the reserved side of me sees it as a WG admission that there are more Type 59s than they would like to see in battle, or that there are more complaints about the number of 59s than they would like to see.
Either way, I would expect a spike in 59s in the short term, but a definite decrease in the long term. Just like we saw with the Lowe...
Until the next "OP" premium comes out, that is.
Better solution to ensuring tank variety on the battlefield: allow us to make "regular" tanks (up to a certain tier) earn credits at premium levels temporarily (or permanently) through gold purchase. Overlord asked us about it on his blog, and I believe the response was fairly positive. (Unlike some of the responses to this kind of announcement)

Not quite sure what to think of this. IMHO, they should have just jacked up the price like they did with the Lowe.
#-8 Posted Jan 12 2012 - 18:05
damn...this gonna be a hard choice...i'm planning to purchase a Lowe then a type59 but since they announced this news now im kinda 'stuck' in between to choose one of these two tanks...

Or....sounds like the whiners' squeaky wheel is getting some grease. Not a fan of the announcement, but I already have mine.

Now a swarm of people will buy it while they can. Expect a T59 zerg wave incoming.
#-4 Posted Jan 12 2012 - 18:10
LOL. At least I've got mine. Wish now I'da bought that d*** M6A2E1 as soon as it was in the gift shop. Oh well...
btw, does this mean the IS-6 premium is "Coming soon"?
edit: And, I was just beginning to get it figured out. I mean how to kill em.

Lame attempt to fire up the sales IMO. I already see the IS-6 coming to replace the Type 59.
