This decision was about balance, There were just too many type 59s per game and that was the biggest source of the problems. Over time you'll see less of them in games as more people join.

Its true more premium tanks will come out.
I am hoping we are able to pursue the ability to make you elite tanks "premium" and give them that same earning power as regular premium tanks. it has been suggested several times and i think its a good alternative.
I'll keep you updated on any progress in that direction.

If you want to reduce the number of Type 59s in battle and increase the number of Pershings, Panther IIs, and T-44s then you need to increase their credit generating ability. Players don't want to have to farm credits with just a single tank. They prefer to have variety but you hamstring them by making the regular tier 8 mediums high risk low reward to use for credit generation as compared to the "Type I don't have to try too hard".
Utter stupidity hard at work in the WG offices....
People need a ridiculous amount of credits to buy content after having spent time grinding a ridiculous amount of xp....
What did you expect when you created a tank that would generate insane amounts of credits? Oh wait the Lowe did that... and you did it again with the Type 59...
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
I expect that in a few months you will create another premium monster and the player base will get one and use it all the time too...
How about letting me make my Pershing and Panther II "premium" (Premium in the sense that they have a great credit multiplier like the Type 59)?

The t 59 has 80mm more frontal turret armor than any other tier8 med tank. Its terrible. You really need to nerf that down if they are still going to be around. make it 150mm and it will still be best but also in line with its tier. I have played a lot of mmo and this is one of the worst cases of unbalancing I have ever seen.

Oh, they're good, they're TOO good.
Create a killer tank, create the demand, then threaten, and then move it, but buff its earnings...THEN BAN IT CREATING A RUSH OF PURCHASE FRENZY!!!!
Brilliant! These guys rule at capitalism!
I suspect sales already started to drop off anyhow.
I predict sales in the next duration will double, or at least match all previous sales!

Removing it isn't gonna solve any problems. The tank is still in the game & everyone who has it will still be needing it to farm credits. What they need, is an across the board tweak or normalizing of the mediums. Lower the T-54's operating costs. Lower the credits earning of the Type 59. This alone will have me back in my Russian mediums in a heartbeat.
I've only gotten to a Panther and the Easy 8 for other nations, but I know a slight bump in the earning power of both these would see me using them more.
What's the sense in having a garage full of tanks, when I only play ONE to pay for them all. I've had a few of the premiums, and in my opinion, the Matilda got it spot on as far as credits, exp & cost. Before the Type 59, I'd use the Matilda any time I needed a boost in credits or free experience. But I would still play the others for their style & performance.
Match the Type 59s earning to Matilda & this will go a long way to improving the way the 59 is used & how Over Populated it is. (See what I did there!?) The utter dependance on, and quantity of, this one tank is the only game-breaking issue here.
PS. Yes I have a Type 59 & I play the hell out of it.

im curious why a prem tank is needed to make credits, any tier 8 tank when upgraded makes plenty of credits.... (with prem account.)
are people using the t59 without prem to make credits ? (i could understand then i guess)
when i grind say a tier 8 tank by the time i reach the tier 9 i have the credits to buy it.
the only time i have to save creds is to buy a tier 10 sense they cost 6 million.

well this statement makes alot of sense, when a premium tanks comes out and become the next Op tank, and then everyone has to have it....and then complain when its nurfed or changed how its making credits or used in game or even taking away...
This is a free game for all to play....and gold & premium is ( ONLY ) offered to a player...
try working for a company for a number of years with great medical coverage and then with out warning it has changed & then your paying more for less coverage...

This means no such thing.
This is about this particular tank and doesn't effect the future premium releases.

I highly doubt it will be OP....it is still going to be the same panzy asstic hull T34 prolly hit with the nerf bat hard to kill its speed and agility. Only thing it will have going for it will be the 120mm. It wont be OP, prolly something like a KV5, yeah its there, yeah its T8 and big and semi sorta scary, but its nothing we cant handle....

This is a cash grab, not balancing.
- The tank is still just as imbalanced as it was
- It still earns as much cash as before
- Players still need the credits just as bad, and are forced to grind t8 prems accordingly
This fixes nothing, and simply is to encourage sales. Within a month, I predict they will release yet another imbalanced t8 premium to promote sales of it. They have to, that's the entire game model.

This decision really doesn't have to do with money. More money would have been made by leaving the tank in place. This decision was about balance, There were just too many type 59s per game and that was the biggest source of the problems. Over time you'll see less of them in games as more people join.
Do you guys not understand that this balance problem is perpetual so long as you generate a new tier 8 premium to replace the one you increase in price (Lowe) or stop selling (Type 59)? The Lowe was in every battle just as bad as the Type 59 is now. Whatever next tier 8 premium you develop will be just as big a problem to the balance.
There are two solutions:
1. Allow the players to "premium" (credit generation multiplier) their favorite elite tank. If a player can choose to use a Pershing, Panther II, T-44, Tiger II, IS-3, T-32, etc as their "grinder" knowing it will make credits as easily as a Type 59 or Lowe the balance issue takes care of itself.
2. Instead of increasing the price (Lowe) and discontinuing a tank (Type 59) you need to have more and varied premiums available all at the same price and credit income ability. There needs to be a large variety of premium tanks in order to dilute how often each premium will appear in a battle.
Option 1 to me is the best with option 2 as what at least needs to happen if the goal is truly balance.

I do not like the Type 59 horde, but the recent adjustment was a step in the right direction, I think proper balance was within relatively easy reach. I never wanted to see them remove the Type 59, I hate to see it happen, and I think it is a poor decision. If they had taken one tier off of the bottom of their match making window, so that they'd be more rare in matches with tier V and tier VI tanks, that would have been fine. And I think they should have done that, and given them another 2% buff in earnings. I don't mind seeing them in my tier VII heavy, in reasonable numbers, I just don't like seeing them in numbers, especially in hordes, when I'm in my tier VI stuff, especially not tier VI mediums.
I really wish they'd keep the Type 59 for sale, and adjust it again. I still would not buy one myself, but others would, and I don't like to see others deprived of the chance, it is not as though it was a "special", as the pre-order tanks were.
I'm sad to say I'm not at all convinced this isn't a marketing ploy to boost Type 59 sales in preparation for the release of more premium tanks in 7.2 and 7.3. Honestly, I don't like that business model.
