hey guys, i have some questions for the T-20. First off, i play mostly tank destroyers and heavies. i really don't have that much experience with mediums. unless my luck is just really bad, it seems anything with a decent gun can penetrate this tank.. i have the 90 mm.. doesn't seem like a huge improvement.. just want some tips so getting to the pershing is less painful
T-20 help

That Experience Convention at the cost of Gold with the 'help' of Elited Tanks always works.... x.o
Then again....you don't play too much with Medium Tanks so....look for suggestions on the threads by using the Search option it has or read the 'introduction' of this ----> Click this link!

I have almost a thousand battles in the T20. I started out dreadfully bad, but after a while, got pretty good in it, 'for me.' (moderate to poor player here)
What helped me, was playing it just like a tank destroyer that can play peek-a-boo. Forget all that shoot on the move junk ... get a rammer, camo net and optics. Be very, very, very (insert very, about ten more times) aware of small hills. With your shortness and great depression, The T20 is the hull-down king. Many maps have small rocks that are too small and low for other tanks at that tier. The enemy won't expect anyone to be there ... so be there.
The T20 can seek sanctuary were not many tank of that tier or higher can.
I think the T20 is one of the most fun tanks I have played, along with the Ez8 and T20. I sold it when I transferred my killer crew to the Pershing. Biggest mistake I ever made.

Flanking support tank, or raider. Shoot and run/hide: every gun can kill you. I left a T-20 in 20% with my T-34/57 (with rammer): every single shot penetrated the frontal armor. And I wasn't avoiding fire, just exchanging shells with the other guy.
Never, ever, face alone a heavy, frontally.
But the 90mm is pretty good, you have a low profile and are fast. Use those advantages.

The T20 is a good tank not a great tank but a good tank the best way to use it is take cover and snipe don't go hit and run it not that fast the Type 59 and T-54 is faster then the T20 to make your T20 better is the 90mm with loading ram and medium pen kit you said you have heavies now the T20 is not a strong armored tank so no siting there taking hits like a heavy can so take cover it a lay low tank so taking cover is easy for you if you can find a good cover spot it will be hard to hit you and you hit them tell them there screwed and it a great tank for credits you get around 10,000 to 30,000 credits people are going to say 30,000 credits that bs really no its not i noticed if you take down big boy heavies with the T20 you get more credits what i did i played smart this was before the 7.0 and 7.1 update now it a little harder.

Found your problem.
You can't play these tanks like heavies and td's. They are not made to take that kind of punishment and die fast if you play them that way. Plus, of all the medium tank lines, the Americans take the most finesse to play to begin with.
If you know a good medium driver, platoon up with them and learn some of the necessary tricks.

Also, notice the T20 has its turret VERY close to the front of the body. Use this to your advantage, expose very little of yourself when you peek around corners.

The T-20 was the M-18 before the devs added the M-18.
You will get most og your kills using it as a mobile sniper - but when you have to mix up close range it much better than the M-18, even though thats not its strong point.

I've had the most luck staying on the flanks and sniping at tanks that preoccupied. I tend to stick to cover and wait to snipe. It depends where on the list I am, too. If I'm near the bottom I will stick to those tactics. If I'm near the top I will be more aggressive.
I hated it at first and was bummed out after having fun with the E8, but now I like it a lot. I'd say about 4/5 of the time I make good credits with it. The trick is to not to too scared with it. Even when I get destroyed, as long as I've damaged a bunch of tanks I come out ahead.
