I am just wondering if anyone else has noticed the recent increase in your E-100 catching fire from getting shot through the front. 10 matches in a row. I know I am probably just having some bad luck, but ever since 7.0 the E-100 for me has been painful to use. I used to have a 60% win ratio in it, since 7.0 it has dropped to 54%...

It's not just the E100 for me. Last night I caught on fire EVERY game for 13ish games in a row.

13 games. Each one I got to play fireman. -_-

Happend to me too. First my T32, then my Type 59, the three times in a row on my 3001 (P) (Big surprise there). odd.

You guys might want to try buying automatic fire extinguishers. They reduce your chance of fire by 10%. Somebody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on how this works:

Given that E-100s have a chance of fire of 15% when taking engine damage, using an automatic fire extinguisher should take that down to 5%. So anytime you take engine damage (like from the front drive sprocket), you should only have a 5% chance on any given shot of catching fire instead of 15%. That's a comparative 66% reduction in fires.

I'm pretty sure that is accurate because since I have been using them in all of my high tier tanks, with the exception of my IS-7 where I use a removed speed governor, and I have noticed a VERY significant reduction in engine fires. In the unlikely event that I do have one, I don't lose HP, crew, and modules over it. I bought about 60 of them when they were 60% off during a sale. It might be worth it to shell out a few gold for 3-4 of them. You will RARELY use one due to the decreased chance of fire. Then when there's a sale, stock up.

Remind me, what is the point of using gold consumables in public matches?

Perhaps you didn't read the part about them rarely getting used. I have played 164+ battles in my E-100 with only like 2-3 fires. Not everybody does companies or clan battles. Seriously, if you buy 3-4 of them for 1 tank it'll take you forever to use them up. They are a game changing mod. 66% reduction in fires in most tanks is huge.

i was playing mine earlier (just got it today!  :Smile_great: ) and i caught fire twice in a row. Luckily my crew has around 95% firefighting so i took no extra mod damage and it was put out after around 250 damage. That crew training is a life saver.  ;)

I get set on fire twice in a lot of my German tanks. its even happened to my IS-4 a couple of times when I am going against equally skilled players, or people who jump me when I am busy dealing with whats in front. Thats where firefighting skills can save the tank.

If you sell after being lit on fire, then you sire just wasted good money and a good, half- decent(now) tank for its tier. The E-100 is still one of the ultimate bullies

the front transmission goes up so easily, even with a trained fire crew and the auto exting equipped which reduces fire chance by 10%.

So yea, they changed something but I still play it.

Why does the KV-3 get set ablaze from the front anyway? The engine and drive are at the rear.

Can you feel the heat of the campfire when your E-100 is set on fire 3 times by a shot from the front ?

I feel bad for KV-3 drivers. I noticed how often they get set on fire when I shoot them. I guess the crew is always huffin' gasoline/petrol and keep cans of it handy.

Nope.  Not petrol.  Vodka.  Lots and lots of vodka.

Yeah, that's why they call him a vodka fuelled driver.  Shoot KV-3 in drivers hatch and he bursts into flames, setting the tank alight.  It is pretty cool.

My KV-3 was set on fire 3 times in one match.  Guys put out the last one when I was on 17 HP :(

I drive a VK4502P.

Engine in the front.

I'm always on fire.

If someone shoots your turret from the front with HE, the explosion splashes all over the flat top plate... which is basically the engine deck. I'm kind of dreading moving on from the VK4502A...

I haven't noticed too much increase in the flammability of the 100, but like you, my win % has plummeted since 7.0.  The 150 is a pointless gun now and I will not shoot gold in crummy pub matches.  Gold does not make a difference in facing the IS7 anyways.

I will probably park the 100.

Dunno about the E-100 but I'm always disappointed when I shoot a KV-3 and it DOESN'T brew up.  LOL!

I'd rather use that gold to remove equipment because its quite easy to put fire extinguisher in number 4 and hit it as soon as fire starts even if it rarely happens (which it rarely happens)
