T34 is a Tier 9 tank .. so wouldn't it be, in essence, the first Tier 9 premium tank?

Notice that T34 is missing completely from the months-ago preview (below), so how do we know it is going to be a Tier 8 premium, and if it is going to be Tier 8, how is it going to be balanced/downgraded to Tier 8?

the devs have said it will be rebalanced to a tier 8 premium many times. considering a lot of people now consider it a 8.5 now i dont think it will take a lot of effort to balance, reduce rof and hp and youre basically there. they certainly dont need to reduce the armor...

this has probably been answered (although I can't find it).  Do you have to have the T30 and T34 in your garage or can they just be researched?

with the addition of new crew skills, will there be an ability to go back and redistribute additional crew skill XP? I really don't need that 100% camo skill on my E-100 crew.

Now announcing 15xT34 vs 15xT34 matches, coming to a February near you.

The only way you'll see a ton of T-34s is if the M103 is a failure. After the T34 gets nerfed to tier VIII i think the Lowe and KV5 will be the better premium tanks. I'm looking forward to new crew skills how about a more detailed info on them.  :Smile_honoring:

the T34 will be a free premium for a lot of people, we will definitely see plenty of them. you still have to pay real money for a lowe or kv5.

T34 will not be purchasable. Only those of us lucky enough to already own one will have one, as it will become premium automatically (with it's own freebie garage slot), nerfed a bit to get down to a true tier 8 heavy, and replaced by the M103 in the US heavy line. So for those of you expecting oodles of wolfpacking T34s coming your way, well, don't hold your breath.

As for the new crew skills, I have no idea where they are posted but there are a lot. They are all crew-specific, meaning that the Commander has a few special skills that s/he can acquire (viewing and such), gunners have their own special skills, radiopersons (women play too, right??) have their own specialities, etc. I have a feeling that firefighting will become a bit less popular.

I read somewhere that the T34 has to be elited. Not sure about the T30, surely researched will suffice. Unless that research will be attributed to the new T10 heavy. Either of these pretty much has to be the case, otherwise lots of research XP will vanish.

FOW was just re-introduced to the EU server, so it shouldn't be much longer for us. Maybe they will push it to us like they did for the EU server, but either way I suspect it won't be any later than 7.2

Regarding the M8A1, is that the M8 that's based on the M5 Stuart chassis?  If so, you can basically make one under the regular M5 Stuart, just use the open top turret and the howitzer.  Is that being removed from the M5 options and being made into it's own tank similar to the KV/KV-2 split?

Sortof. It's a different animal to the M8 Howitzer Motor Carrage with the short 75. This was a modification to M8 which mounted the 75mm M3 gun such as on the M3 Medium or M3 Tank Destroyer into a modified turret. It was never actually called anything other than M8 HMC w/ 75mm gun M3, but it's given the common unofficial name of M8A1 for simplicity's sake: They even painted it on the side!

It performed well in trials in early 1943, but they figured that by the time they put it into production, T70 (aka M18) would be about to come online anyway, so the program was cancelled.
