On the NA server? like 100k accounts have been made ( rough guess) but theres only like 15k players that are active. You can check how many are online in the Top left hand corner when you get in the game.

In my opinion?  Not enough for WG to really give a flying fig over when it comes to making the U.S. tier 9 & 10 heavies decent tanks that can go toe-toe with the soviet/German/French counterparts; nor enough for them to replace them with the correct model for T110 design nor a M103 that will make the E-75 quake in its tin boots.  But maybe there will be more active players once the T30 goes TD and the T34 goes premium; I prayer that it becomes thus and we can have 25k consistently.

well you know the saying " opinions are like arseholes, everybody has one "

US tanks are a different play style to the rest, same as the German French and Russian, this does not mean they are worse, the game would be VERY boring if every nation played the same. rather then complaining about US tier 9 and 10 tanks not being able to trade shot for shot, be happy at the differences between each nation. its not like you forced to play any nation you dont want to

And forums are like toilets.....

Anyhow, I understand perfectly the difference in play styles as I have 3 of the 5; playing the U.S. tier9/10s is a lot of thinking&work, whereas the Kraut tier 9/10s is autopilot-steamroller mode; the Commies and Frogs Frenchies lay in-between.

More to the point, I do think there would be more active players if end-game tanks were more balanced; just an opinion, but one that cannot be discounted nor disproved.

shocked you havnt been warned for this to be honest.

that aside.

tier 10 tanks at the moment are probably the best balanced when you compare all the strengths of weaknesses of all of them. each tank offers something the other tanks dont

There was a thread a while back that had the number at 225k. I'll post a link when I find it.

Well if the wiki is accurate, the US server's capacity is 75k on 1 cluster. So unless iv'e missed additions, which as new as i am is quite possible, it couldn't be above that.

That's active accounts, not how many are online at a single time. Still not by my computer, so I haven't found the link just yet.

Not trying to be argumentative but capacity is capacity, not sure how you can interpret otherwise. Being an ex webhost, and depending on their hardware specs as well as how tweaked load balancing is, that number sounds quite accurate. Back to tanking :)

Not sure if this fits in this thread but it seems too to me , but then I am out in the middle of one of the US deserts connecting with a cell phone and drinking boiler makers.

The people on the NA server have been fed "happy endings" in all there movies and TV for years and years. So the concept of WoT is a little off for them.In Europe not the case. In WoT you have to make your own Happy ending. It will not be handed to you.So I don't think anyone should expect it to be as popular as it is in Europe.

If we consider US = Europe, chance are 1,34m total account, with 250k-300k active player.

forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/65256-unofficial-eu-server-statistics/

Quote

Total accounts:

There are over 1.8 million accounts on the EU server, that's nearly 200k new accounts created since the last snapshot.
The US server has 1.34 million accounts, that's only about 12k new accounts since the last snapshot, looks like this region is in trouble.
The Russian servers has got 4.46 million accounts, that's 360k new accounts since the last snapshot.
I have no information about the 2 Chinese servers.

All data below is only for the EU server.

Played accounts: 983 629 accounts have played at least one game, 95 188 more than last month.

While this is the biggest growth in played accounts that we have seen so far, the unplayed accounts remains at 45% of the total.

Getting hooked: Of those that played at least one game, over 27% never even played as many as ten games (268 917 accounts). This is actually quite positive, because it also means that nearly 73% of those that tried the game liked it enough to play it more often (714 712 accounts).

Wow
Nobody flamed me on my last post?
This is the most civil group of warriors I have ever seen.
It is a pleasure.

Something that nearly killed the game for me was opperating low tier three and four tanks on fields where tier six tanks were stomping around killing everything in sight. Another thing that nearly killed the game for me was the back breaking grind to get into higher tier tanks only to find myself hopelessly outclassed inspite of moving to a better tank.

Once upon a time, battlefield commanders changed thier plans based solely upon a meer rumor that there might be a Tiger opperating in the area. A Tiger...not a platoon or a company...one Tiger. That was enough to make them rethink any plans they might have had and take into account the Tigers ability to dominate the battlefield unless it was properly planned for and proper provisions were made to deal with it. In this game, the Tiger I is little more than a glorified, slow moving medium tank that is often facing off against vastly superior enemies. Things like that have nearly knocked me out of this potentialy very fun game and I am sure there are many others who have simply thrown up thier hands in defeat and gone back to playing EvE or World of Warcraft.

one thing i have noticed over the past year is that the number in the upper left corner has been gradually getting bigger as time goes on. last year about this time there would be 8-10k on during peak time. about 6 months ago you would see 15k and i saw 23k the other day so the game seems to be growing. so we got that going for us, which is nice.  B)

Well a year ago it was still beta, and alot of the players had quit(including me), and were waiting for release by the time open beta came around in February because of the account wipe, but indeed, the number is rising bit by bit.
