So as you know British tanks are going to be coming to the game hopefully during the summer of this year but there is something that has been bugging me, what insignia are the British tanks going to use?  Germany has the Wehrmacht symbol and the USA the white star but what about Britain?  As you may know after America joined WWII they used the allied white star as there primary identification symbol.  British tanks before that had used symbols denoting specific regiment and squadron (http://www.flamesofw...aspx?art_id=590).  I can not seem to find any information an insignia that was used on ever single tank in the army.  Does anyone know the answer to this?

It appears that they are going with the white-red-white insignia. This is going off the current version of the graffiti_stickers.dds.

No problem.

I'd guess that they are using the variant of the insignia from World War I.

The Greek alpha sign is used exclusively on the Panzer 5-4 Alpha tank. The T logo on the other hand is a mystery...

I'm thinking 'T' for 'Tetrarch', or perhaps 'T' for 'Beta Tester'.

Regiment and Squad markings would look good. Also, what about using a roundle like on british aircraft for in game purposes?

Yes but take a look at some WWII british aircraft.  I was talking about a roundel in british colors vs french, and it was a suggetstion. British, Canadian, and Australian aircraft pracitally had the same roundel except the canadians put a red Maple leaf in the center, and the Austrailians put a kiwi (the bird, not fruit) in the center.

Maybe something like the british flage to really give a difference

I don't look at the tank insignia anyway, if it is red (enemy team i kill it, or a least try to

It might be the alpha tester logo for the Russians since my beta tester KV-220 never had one.

Red-White or Red-White-Red?

Keep in mind, the Polish Armoured Corps was part of the Second Canadian Corps of the Canadian First Army, so they wouldn't exactly use their own insignia, at least not on Shermans, Valentines, Matildas and so forth.

Also, I found these.

So no, they're not alike.

I think you'll find the Australian RAAF has a Kangaroo in their roundel. The Kiwi is a bird found exclusively in New Zealand, so it would be highly unlikely we'd be using it.

Unless we really want to stir the Kiwis up by taking their national fauna.  :Smile-hiding:

You are right.  The Australians put a kangaroo, and the New Zealanders put the kiwi (bird).  I have no idea why i mixed that up.  There is a distinct difference between the two peoples, a matter of national pride down there.

Screw that white-red-white bullshit. Give us the Union Jack as an insignia.
