Anyone else find it ironic they have two garbage bags in front of the museum's sign? lol.

Great pictures and thanks for sharing the experience with us. If I ever am in the Moscow area I'll certainly plan to drop by.
Yup,what's even more ironic is that 80% of the tank cannons have trash thrown inside them.

Here are a couple from when I went there.

Its not.  His tank for a long time was on display in Mott's military museum in Columbus, OH but about 4 years ago was moved to somewhere in CA.

Pretty sure most guns are rifled, actually.

There were two made actually, but the Germans scuttled both of them. One had its turret destroyed, the other its hull. Therefore, the Russians captured to two wrecks, stuck the worknig turret on the working hull, and then made a single working prototype. The Monster's a different tank.

oh ok. btw look up Sabaton and look up there songs. put Attero and then your name after to find a song about the battle of Berlin.  "Attero! Dominatus! Berlin is Burning! Denique, Intihimo (i think that phrase is right   ) The Reich has fallen!

yup anyone who meets you in person knows that lol. i remember the meeting so well still and i have problems remembering things often  also, anyone who sees a post about a community meeting near you, trust me, its rewarding to go and advice: take a guest who may (or may not ;) ) come. its rewarding for attending not just in "extras", but getting to meet tankers who are near you. For example, i met a tanker who i met on the general chat and to my surprise, was at the New Orleans Meet. (and yes, I DO know this is off subject  :Smile-hiding: )

. However the lack of upkeep was far far below the standards you would see at ANY other similar location in the world. Here you have a collection of your countries Armored accomplishments with dust bunnies the size of REAL bunnies. At the very least they could hose them down or take a shop broom to them once a month. Thanks GOD they are out of the elements, otherwise a large number of rare tanks would have been lost.

I felt similar to the tanks that were at Aberdeen Proving Ground that were out in the elements covered in rust and rotting away.

Not everyone has the money even if they have the inclination to keep vehicles in anything more than a roughly acceptable state visually.

Saumur and Bovington also have large collections of rare tanks not on view that are in a very bad way awaiting time and money to do some sort of restoration to (and in Bovingtons case various unrelated hulls and turrets mated to give some sort of visual appeal).

I'm not sure if you would read this or not, but Obyekt 775 had its driver in the turret sitting on an automatic rotating seat, which always made the driver facing forward regardless of the direction of the turret.

They tried it with MBT70 as well. The result was apparently a motion sick driver.
