The t2 US TD, the T18, uses the QF 2-pounder (sick little gun as long as you're not having to deal with a B1 or a Hetzer).

I can see where you're coming from and looking at it from the perspective of the gun alone I would say yes but on the whole I would have to disagree. Churchill is slow brick able to take some punishment right whereas T14 is quite nimble from what I have seen but less armoured overall so I see a difference in play styles between the two.

I would be more inclined to worry about it stepping on the T1's toes more than anything but with just a gun buff T1 would still maintain it's superiority.

I love this tank it is nimble hits hard enough can take a hit and rarely disappoints me, but a minor buff I surely would not say no to

The gun only need a pen and accuracy buff, the DPM and alpha is enough to panic tier 4 and win brawls vs most tier 5.

Some say buffing the pen would make it as good as the T1 but it won't.
T1, standard AP: 115 dmg, 127 pen, 18.99 rof, 0.37 accuracy. DPM: 2183
T14, standard AP: 110 dmg, 102 pen, 18.99 rof, 0.37 accuracy. DPM: 2088

The T14 will still have worse DPM, even lower than the listed due to less penetrating hits, not to speak of it's worse agility.

I wouldn't mind tuning the mm to create more tier 5 and 6 games either.

T1 is really bad tank anyway so who cares if T14 was better than it...

T1 would be good if it didn't have to compete with the KV...

Let us research alternative guns for it, that would be awesome. the alt. guns would require large ammounts of xp to unlock, something like 30-40'000 xp each, as premiums are played for a long time(unless you hate it and sell it).
stock: the current 75 mm
alt1: 6 pounder from the churchill/ram
alt2: m1a1e2, 76mm gun with nerfed rof, let's say 15 rpm?
alt3: 105 mm howitzer w/ nerfed rof, 7.2 rpm?
alt4: BL-10 with same rof as the 75 mm  <img src='http://forum.worldoftanks.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Smile-bajan2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':Smile-bajan2:' />

anyone think that would be a good idea?

I love the T14, I dont play it more than to get my double, or perhaps not at all given my mood.

T14: 67% @ 19 Battles Great overall tank, no glaring weaknesses or advantages. Can fight KV from Front!

Churchill: 34% @ 23 Battles Food for KV's, QF6 is simply lacking against equal tiered competition

Mathilda: 44% @ 29 Battles Higher MM value than churchill or T14 results in games where you dont contribute much.

T-25: 58% @ 131 Battles Highest MM value of Tier V Premium

The Marder II mounts a Russian gun for it's top gun. Therefore the Marder II is Russian. The Marder II must now become a tier III Russian Tank Destroyer.

Premiums are supposed to mount the histirically accurate modules. In the case of the T14 there were 2 prototypes, one american mounting the current 75 mm and one british mounting the 6 pounder. Therefor if it mounted the 6 pounder it would be british.

If you think the marder top gun makes it russian I assume that you consider the M110 a french tank as it's gun is french...

It's not similar, so much as "reverse engineered to accept single piece ammunition from a revolving loading mechanism". Literally the same gun otherwise, minus the muzzle brake, same ammunition with french powder specifications, same performance.

I don't think armor or mobility changes are in order, these are not problems in my experience.

Personally I think the 105 howitzer would be the best option, you just have to nerf its rate of fire...

As far as that making it more powerful than the T1... I think the T1 should get the 105 option as well... but I wouldn't use it.

I don't really want a slow gun on this tank, the 75 is fine in most situations it just need a bit more pen and accuracy.

The HE nerf killed the 105 mm, now it only works vs SPGs and low tier, open topped TDS

Accuracy and pen are fine by me.  I have little trouble with tier 6's and can penetrate tier 7s often enough (not that they care with the low damage)

Only if your getting shots straight in through the roof.
Otherwise it's just getting calculated hitting side armor like it would any other vehicle.
