I shoot enemy vehicles in the rear from inside twenty feet and get "bounce" or "ricochet", or I simple miss cleanly. A 45mm(or smaller) gun armed enemy tank shoots me in the front and I'm dead. Every single time. This doesn't happen on my other tanks, so it isn't just that I am so fail, just this tank; so much so that I've lost confidence in it.

Is there a bug in the code for this tank or something?

My AMX 12t has 108 pen, I'm pretty sure that the 7.5cm L43 and later L48 fares no diffrent. It'll have trouble fighting many tanks above its tier.

I loved that tank, thinking of buying it again, you just need to aim, either that or you are just facing KV-5s.

You have to learn weakspots for successful play with the gun that has the lowest pen in tier 5.  In exchange, you get to play the fastest medium tank in tier 5, possibly in the whole game.  Good luck.

As far as my limited experience with the tank as I just bought one tonite on a lark it seems to be a good scout and flanker with the top 75mm.

Pz3/4 is awsome. i loved mine, and it prepped me for its scaled up, more awsome brother, the VK3601.
if youve played 200+ battles, which is more than enough to face/shoot at everything in its tier range, as well as elite the thing, its not nearly as bad as you say it is.

Meh, I've killed two upgraded 3/4 in my T-50 and several more in my 12t without breaking a sweat. I also played them before normalization and found their guns were unbearably bouncy. Might just be my heavy prejudice kicking in but I couldn't stand their peashooter.

A mediocre tank in a punishing tier.

Upgrade ASAP.

I love my Pz III/IV. It's one of my most-played tanks, and is a fast little snipermobile. Mind you it took a little while to get used to it, and for awhile my win percentage with it was totally in the crapper. But that has changed. Itisn't going to go toe-to-toe with anything of higher tier, but it has the speed to flank most anything (or escape if need be), as well as to chase down scouts. If the gun depression were a little better, I'd have no complaints at all.

Played to its strengths, it can be a real difference-maker when at the top and a solid contributor even in games several tiers higher.

I agree with the idea the original poster had, but it has been exaggerated. The Panzer III''IV is a bad tank, at least with my drawn conclusions. You will generally not get "dinged them" or "bounced off" at 25ft, and from flanking, unless it is a KV5 or IS3, or improperly hitting Ty59. Tiger II, KV3, Ferdinand, Lowe, T29 - these sorts of tanks will be easily Pen by squared flank hits out to 2OOm. The problem is, anything reaching a 9O armour threshold, suddenly just gains some sort of immunity against your L48 7.5, the AMX12T does not seem to suffer this for some odd reason, and it has a French copy of the L48. 0dd. Anyways, though nicely armed stock in tier 5, its upped gun is not a major improvement at all, and it has to stay with it, making it underarmed. Unlike other posters, it is not the worst armed tier 5 out there, there is the Ram, the Churchill, the Matilda, M7 Med, Etc

The largest problem I had with the tank, was not its firepower though. It burst into flames often, from bogus hits no where near engine block. It suffers track hits easy, and track hits in this bucket is a death certificate. Its engine power and mobility are not really noticeable, at all, until you get a 9Oish percent driver/final engine. Which take sometime, unlike say the StuH or T28 Med. Its turret armour was also unjustly nerfed, whereas russian tier 5 turrets got boosted. How bogus is that.  Gun depression is also horrible.

I would say the PZIII''IV would become a lot more enjoyable and popular if it received the 1O.5 howitzer. Its not a lot to ask for.

Sorry to say that the Panzer 3/4 is simply inadequate against the majority of targets higher tier than yourself. If you're bottom tier, which you will be 75% of the time, you're just a scout tank with an unusually loud (but useless) gun. Even trying to hit sides and rear doesn't work out well a lot of the time given how little penetration the weapon has. Plus you gun has both unimpressive damage and a mediocre rate of fire, so even when you do get lucky and make a penetrating hit it won't usually be decisive.

Too bad this tank doesn't get the 105mm. Even with the HE nerf it would be much more effective.

Your only consolation when driving this tank is the few battles you get where you are not the bottom tier. Panzer 3/4 is a beast when it's top tier, owing to its extremely good speed and 60mm of sloped armor. Its gun is pointless above its tier, and highly effective below. Stark contrast on this tank between top and bottom placement in the battle.

I don't know if you're taking about Mk VII Tetrarch or PzKpfw III/IV.
