and i bet u would fall in love wit hthe IS-4 more than wit hthat turtle
and IS-7 is even better

i don't have enough XP to unlock the IS3 or IS4.

Well, the IS-4 is sustainable with premium alone for me playing by myself and i like it, however teamed up with my brother ( also IS-4 ) = dead almost right away and impossible to win a single match ( we have lost ALL games paired up in IS-4:s so far )
Paired up in 2 KV-3:s = good money and xp, fun matches and about 50/50 win/lose, its great :)

I have been a KV-3 veteran for a long time, I even get comments from others ingame wondering why I wont upgrade, even though I have about 780K free exp and 6.5 million credits just sitting there. I just love the tank. It is powerful enough to own anything in its tier, and even a tier above it, and cheap enough that I am not sweating bullets every time I bring it out.

Despite all the whining about the VK3601, the KV-3 just puts the VK3601 to shame, just as rediculously cheap to repair as the VK3601 but it has armor and firepower that can directly challenge any Tier 7, and even put the hurt on a Tier 8 or a badly handled Tier 9.

One of the reasons why I think the VK3601 is the most overrated tank in this game, and the KV-3 is the most underrated. I still do not get why people continue to think the VK is better despite the fact I regularly two-shot them with my 107mm while their 88mm gun bounces off my front armor.

Buy an IS-7 and use it to destroy even more when your not playing KV-3  :Smile-izmena: . A cheaper alternative would be the IS - just got it and its 122mm is a force to be reckoned with - on Prem im getting 1.5k+ exp with around 45k some matches.

I hated that thing for few first days because it's so damn slow and clumsy but eventually we managed to understand each other and now I'm enjoying it. KV-3 is a great machine, no doubt, it just needs some patience.

The KV3 was a delight to play, and a major upgrade from the silly KV. Choosing KV3 over KV1S is 10k XP cheaper. What made KV3 such a joy was the amazing 107mm gun. Playing the KV3 was all about making due with the sluggishness of the thing. It seriously is the slowest of the non-premium heavies. Once you adapt to this, you could give anyone a run for their money.

Switching up to the IS however, felt like a natural thing to do. Being able to mount the 122mm D25-T made it a force to be reckoned with, combining armor equal to KV3 with a slightly better gun and higher HP and mobility. If the IS was able to mount the 107mm, it would be insanely overpowered.

Just saying but my Tiger 2 eats KV3's. :Smile_harp:
You compare a T8 tank with a T6. Good job!

My ISU eats Tigers 2. Just saying  :Smile-bajan2:

The consumable option to remove the speed limiter on the engine helps a lot. Particularly for getting up to speed and any time you need to go up a slope. It's a consumable, but doesn't get used up if you use it. Even if you leave it on and damage your engine, it's still there for the next battle. :)

I have the 122mm on my kv3 and its nasty.  I like the tank a lot so much better than the KV which is horrid on every stand point save its 107mm.

Great mid tier heavy tank.

KV-3 is durable as hell, it's a sturdy piece of craftsmanship; I am not afraid in going toe to toe with a Tiger.

I once loaded an HE round on the 107, and proceeded to deal 59% damage to a KV, hitting him in the front part of his turret tower.  :Smile-playing:

My best so far game in KV-3 was on Malinovka map..
I was last left because our flanking attack got eaten up by 1 KV-s and 1 T34 then enemy attacked our base from both sides.
They did make tactical mistake tho, by traveling in line and by allowing me to get near the houses ( we was in southern base) so i could protect my rear armor from direct fire..
Then i started to work on them 1 by 1.
I got hit 40 times in process and finished with 10% or so HP and with gas tanks, gun and both tracks damaged.
Most hilarious kill was with little Hetzer trying to ram me in tracks and immobilize me ,but got himself down to 10% and i finished him last  :)

All in all this is the score :

the kv-3 is most fun tank i drove up to date, i enjoy it way more than my is-3. when the kv-3 is on top spot in a battle its just so much fun to just drive onto the enemy base, get hit by all sides but not taking any damage cause everything bounces off :D and with the 107 or 122 cannon youre even useful in the big matches with t8s and t9s cause you can hang a little back and support your superheavy with loads of damages to the enemy while mostly being ignored by the enemy.

one of the fun encounters i had was with a jagdpanzer4 and a tiger. i drove up the steep hill on himmelsdorf and they came in sight directly in front of me and i thought to myself well a tier7 heavy and a td, i should be dead soon but when they started firing all their shots bounced off and i killed them, as it was my only fight that battle i could see the hit statistic after the battle, they hit me 9 times together and didnt take a single % off of my hp and i fired 7 shots killing them both. the kv-3 is the one of the most overpowered tanks in game imo.

I love my KV3. It hits hard and anything below a PzIV with the elephant gun or the T-34/85 can't dent it. I've engaged IS3's and walked away (always with help though,), and had shots bounce off that would have killed my poor Church or KV outright. Of course, twice I got surrounded by lighter tanks and focused on by enemy artillery, and the killing blow was (both times) the 152mm KV that i was too distracted to see. Having several HE shots blow up one after the other in your face, while mostly harmless, does hell for my framerate, and the smoke and noise cover up who's really doing damage.

Since everyone is saying nice things about the KV-3, I'll resist the temptation to swap it for the KV-1 and keep going at getting the upgrades. At the moment it's painfully slow, the turret can't turn fast enough to track anything moving and the gun is quite weak and inaccurate and always getting damaged making it even worse.

It's another case of being a terribly poor stock tank, one hell of a downgrade from the KV with stock turret and 122mm...

I'm slowly grinding in my fairly new KV-3, its got the 107mm from my KV (a tank I despised) and as has been stated she's a tough old bird and quite a heavy hitter, yes anything I fire at a T-44 bounces and she handles slightly better than a sun but still I like it.  Planning on getting the engine before I upgrade the gun though, its glacially slow.

But when I want to go all nippy I have my fully upgraded T-28 a vehicle I will continue to profess my love for.

If you have 107mm on your KV-3, I think you don't need any other. 100mm is quite nice on my T-43, but I really loved the 107 on my pre-soft KV-3. It's perfect gun for this tank. Better work on getting second turret, that's my advice.

Oh god, stock gun needed 5 direct hits into the side just now to kill a Panzer III... I'm starting to hate this tank...
