At Long Last, Version 1 of the Top Gear Voice Pack is finally here, and with over *1000* quotes.
This is still just a rough draft of the final product so all input is appreciated to help mold the final version down the line.
The audio has been tweaked but you will still want to make the voices volume in game 100% while dropping everything else down to 50% or lower.
Top Gear *Version 1* Voice Pack (Updated 6/25/12)
For those of you who are experiencing lag/pause when a quote is being played may want to try one of these other builds.
The main Pack Loads and Decompresse the audio files into memory. Being how the pack is 100MB+ now, it may be using a lot more memory than the 2~MB from before. ![]()
Let me know which of these works best (if at all) for everyone and I will use it from now on.
I am curious about using the "Stream from Disk" version on anything less than an SSD, it may work fine but someone running off a single HDD will have to report back if it can be done without also having pauses.

*Old Preview Version*
Well it is finally here, the Top Gear *Preview* Voice Pack for World of Tanks is out and ready to appease your hooligan antics.
Top Gear *Preview* Voice Pack
I label it as a *Preview* pack because this is only a shell of what I am dreaming this pack to be. Right now I still have much much farther to go, watching/listening to every episode and getting as many quotes out of them as possible. My end goal is to have every season worth of quote in the voice pack, then add new quotes as each new episode comes out. This way the pack will have tons of variety as well as never quite get old since there will always be something new each season.
For now after producing this, if you guys like it, I will release newer Preview builds as I can get them built using both sounds that delph helped me with, as well as other episodes as I finish them.
Big thanks to delph for his work on getting me these sounds thus far. ![]()

btw: me wants "i'm a driving god" from, the squirrel when the tracks are repaired

In due time. That is one of my favorite quotes of all time.
This is only a teaser guys. I have a ton of work ahead of me and will still be pretty much remaking the entire pack from the ground up. Please be patient with me as Pack making digs way into my grinding time toward my T34 goal lol
When it is finally finished (Probably a bit after Season 18 is done this year, you guys will have hopefully one of the largest and most diverse voice packs in WoT)

I'd recommend overall normalization of the sound files. Some are very low volume while other are dynamically louder (like i.e. the "gentlemens magazines" starter sound).
Other than that its bloody brilliant so far! Looking forward to the next version with even more quote fun.

I understand completely. I have been using the pack for the last few days, and it sometimes is difficult to hear some of the comments even with other sounds turned down. However it is a bit difficult since 1. The sounds all came from various places for this pack (future packs will all be from SD-HD audio rips since they did not start filming in HD till around season 5 or so) and 2. For some reason, when the sounds volume is perfectly fine on the outside, once they are packaged into the WoT files, they loose like 75% of their volume. I have no idea why this is and apparently I am not alone as far as voice pack builders are concerned. I used mp3gain to increase the gain to roughly 110db (apparently not enough either) without clipping and it seems to have worked but at the same time, like you guys notice, not all of them increased evenly.
I'll see if I can tweak it for some improvement this weekend and hope to God that the ones I rip from here on out, will be roughly equal quality and easier to evenly normalize.

You might want to look at using Audacity it is very good and manipulating and leveling out sound levels and anything else you want to do and it is free.
