i'm testing the no decompression and hearing the quotes...

but a note, i have to put the voice volume to 5% or my speakers explode.

edit: even at 4%, some quotes almost saturate, like clarkson's start quote
How do you get it to be so loud?  Mine are so quiet.

i've always have that with WoT, i use the global volume at 20, voice at 4 and it saturates, music at 10, everything else also low.
My windows mixer is at 50%

For your records in determining which is best, I had to resort to using the Stream from Disk option to avoid in game lag on team loading screen and in the event a sound file was played in game.

The other two options left me with 1 minute plus loading times and a 3-5 second delay on the event of a mod sound being played in battle.

I'm using a fairly mid level unit that does show its age a bit, but is powerful enough to run high detail with good to decent fps.

i've been using the "load no decompress" and i notice no game loading lag and no sound play lag.
the only thing is that loudness thing, but it might be my rig....

If i have to be picky, i have to say the mod needs more Hammond laughter, first version had more (evil) laughter...

Also, i don't know if it's in but i never hear the "i'm the god of driving!!!!" line from hammond when he was driving the bowler back in the early seasons...

could also use less "cock" from May and more "it is the XXXXX in the worldddd" that clarkson loves to spew

Well done! Using the 'Load no Decompression' on my slow hard drive with great results, no lag in game. Been using it since the day after you posted it and I keep hearing new sounds. So far it's great, but I'm thinkin I have many more sounds to hear.

Is it just me, or are the links broken? The "load no decompression" keeps sending me to random pages and the Version 1 pack keeps trying to get me to download some program. Are there any direct links available

The links are Adf.ly links. Just clikc them and you should see at the top right of the page that loads a "Please Wait" (for about 5 seconds) followed by a "Skip Ad" button which will start your download.

Well, the first one makes my game lag when a sound plays, so I'm gonna try the 2nd one. Will report back on my progress soon :)

Edit: tested the load without decompression one and it runs very smoothly. Very little framerate drop, and the drop was undetectable to my eye. Very nice mod. I'm running on a 7200RPM HDD, not a very good storage device, but the voice pack still runs smoothly.

Yeah Load No Decompression works for me nicely as well on a 250 Gig 5400 RPM HDD in case anyone needed a point of reference

At Long Last, Version 1 of the Top Gear Voice Pack is finally here, and with over *1000* quotes.

This is still just a rough draft of the final product so all input is appreciated to help mold the final version down the line.

The audio has been tweaked but you will still want to make the voices volume in game 100% while dropping everything else down to 50% or lower.

Top Gear *Version 1* Voice Pack (Updated 6/25/12)

For those of you who are experiencing lag/pause when a quote is being played may want to try one of these other builds.

Load No Decompression

Stream from Disk

The main Pack Loads and Decompresse the audio files into memory. Being how the pack is 100MB+ now, it may be using a lot more memory than the 2~MB from before. :Smile_blinky:

Let me know which of these works best (if at all) for everyone and I will use it from now on.

I am curious about using the "Stream from Disk" version on anything less than an SSD, it may work fine but someone running off a single HDD will have to report back if it can be done without also having pauses.

*Old Preview Version*

Well it is finally here, the Top Gear *Preview* Voice Pack for World of Tanks is out and ready to appease your hooligan antics.

Top Gear *Preview* Voice Pack

I label it as a *Preview* pack because this is only a shell of what I am dreaming this pack to be. Right now I still have much much farther to go, watching/listening to every episode and getting as many quotes out of them as possible. My end goal is to have every season worth of quote in the voice pack, then add new quotes as each new episode comes out. This way the pack will have tons of variety as well as never quite get old since there will always be something new each season.

For now after producing this, if you guys like it, I will release newer Preview builds as I can get them built using both sounds that delph helped me with, as well as other episodes as I finish them.

Big thanks to delph for his work on getting me these sounds thus far.  :Smile_glasses:

I love this mod! Hats off to the OP.

Load no decompression works fine for me, the regular mod has a noticeable delay.
