Great Mod, any updates?

No built updates yet (or anytime really soon)

I have begun the task of rewatching every episode and am marking every quote I can find as I get to it. It will take some time and patience. (Since watching a single 1hr episode will be around 2-3hrs of work) And since there are 18 seasons now, that is a crapload of time. It will all pay off in the end, but until I finish a few seasons worth of quotes, I don't want to release anything that isn't worth releasing. Once I get to a point where I feel you will all get a good kick out of the current content, I will release a partial release and then probably releases every season I finish thereafter.

Patience. This mod, by my standards, has a long way to go to reach the Epic status I imagine for it.

This may help you weed through a lot of it, breaks down selected quotes by series and episode help you know where to look for some of it.

I've been running this for about a week and a half now, and I gotta say this was worth it. This is the definitive choice for voices in WoT, displacing even MLP voice packs :D.

Good work so far, looking forward to the full version!  :Smile_honoring:

And now I feel like reading that wikiquote page to get a preview of what we can expect in the future! :)

I'd +1 ya again if I could, I gave it to you when I downloaded.

Just to let everyone know. I have been working steadily finding new quotes to use. Just finishing up Season 1 and already have more quotes than there are in the current pack (and it is far from a "good" season, heck May isn't even here yet) so that should give you an idea of the work I have out ahead of me as well as the sheer size the pack will reach once I start getting into the quote heavy seasons. ;)

Ah the grind continues...

Plus one for keeping us informed, as well as the sheer Mountain of Episodes still to watch.

Keep it up, mate!

Hi IM0001 and TG fans,

I added a fresh zipfile containing 1475 wavfiles from series 17,16,15,14 and 13 Episode 1-3. (Yes I'm working my way down)
If you choose to include them in your pack, do take your time.
Its at the same location as before (except change tgquotes1.zip -> tgquotes2.zip (500MB)).
Its not all completely on par with my earlier stuff (cherrypicked most of those ones),
but some may be mixed with yours to create something new.

These sounds were a collection from various sources. When I finish with the pack, it will be rebuilt using sounds from only one source so normalization and overall quality should remain much more constant and easier to normalize. The only hard part is cutting out quotes during busy/noisy scenes where there may be a bit of background noise. Some of it fits well though with the background noise of tires wobbling, engines running, etc which can help you identify what event they are related too.
Good work. I have a hard time believing that the normalization issues can't be solved on their own and I certainly don't wish you would have to redo all or part of the soundsplicing work I just did ;).
The first zipfile I provided did also contain May's 'Cock' collection, that came from a Youtube compilation with lots of different soundlevels...
Have you tried comparing some of my samples from series 17 to identical fragments from your HD collection? (mine are 128 Kbps 48Khz)
I big difference would surprise me.
I read you used mp3gain, so you never convert to wav at any time?
Maybe that program is meant for music albums and takes the max soundlevel of some extreme soundfile into account so the weak sounding files are left at a low volume? Excluding extreme ('Cock up a Cack') fragments or running basic normalization programs that work on individual files might be a solution.

I sped up the process using mplayer with -edlout indexS0XE0Y.txt to be able to mark fragments while watching really easy and by creating a rough splicing script that uses the data from indexS0XE0Y.txt. Also, mplayer can playback episodes (I'v already watched) at higher speeds (-af scaletempo -speed 1.3) with sounds at normal pitch. Less time spent in audacity looking for fragments and more fun watching TopGear.

For some events its difficult to find sounds. So I combined fragments.
They either have to be rather cryptic or different fragments 'Botched together' to provide some info to the player.
For the 'crewtype killed' events I chose TopGear members to have fixed roles in your tank, so if something nasty happens to them you know which crewmember just died. Let me know if this is a good idea. Hammond has double duties but if more fragments are found related to DJ/radio work he did, the player figures out which crewmember died.

Forgot to mention that the the first part of 'match start' sounds have to compete with the engine sounds from players around your tank.
Normalizing the first part of that audiofile seperately might help, especially when the latter part is louder.
Except for when I combine samples, I did not normalize audiofiles. If that needs changing just tell me.

If you set another tank on fire, will Jeremy say "I am the god of hellfire!"?

Truly epic. The first few games I played with this pack I spent more time rolling on the floor than I did playing :P

I once got both the "The gear lever has gone up my arse" and "After removing the gear lever from Jeremy's arse, we were on to our next challenge." in a row. Epic.

Thank you!

I plan to make a much broad and more specific set of saying for each thing. Yes the Ok Cock things may says (in the sounds I have now, he says it a lot lol) they mean either crits or damage to your turret/gun. I will be making them organized as I go along and possibly make a complete list of every saying to the activity they are triggered for since I hope to have over 10+ per action. :)

Also Clarkson's "Powerrrr" is in there for your engine repair. ;)

You didn't quote my reply so I didn't realise you had responded a month ago, only when I came back to check the progress.

Yeah that list will be useful, as if there is a lot, they won't be as often and may be harder to figure out what is what.

As for the "Powerrrr" quote, I think I heard it for the first time just the other day and I loved it. Can't believe it took so long to appear, probably because the engines rarely get destroyed, and if they are its normally in a light and you are dead before it's fixed  :( Maybe consider adding it for track fix too, so it appears a bit more? Kinda sad when one of the most iconic quotes rarely gets heard, and when you think about it, engine and track fix both mean "you may now move", so it still works ;)

anyway, love the work keep it up  :Smile_honoring:

I had a similar problem, when I first started using it soon after the release...I still find myself chuckling away at some of the quotes, it really makes the game even more fun  :D

I think I had that happen to me the very first time I lost a track with this mod, I thought it must have been the only quotes for those actions but just a nice coincidence  :Smile_great:

Loving the mod, but with 7.1.1, the ambient music and sounds are gone, mod stuff is here, but rest is gone
