No the Obj 252 is the IS-6 the IS-8 was thought of and implemented after that tree was released

Yep, the ST-1 will replace the IS-4 at Tier 9, while the IS-4 moves to Tier 10. It will have more armor and less mobility when compared to the second Soviet tree.

Second Soviet tree ends with the IS-7. The new Tier 9 there will be the IS-8 (formerly used to be Object 252 but it was deemed unworthy of tier 9 status), which is an improvement over the IS-3. That line will emphasize speed over protection.

Just to be clear, if someone is still confused.

• Tier 8 KV-4  IS-3
  
• Tier 9 ST-1  IS-8
  
• Tier 10 IS-4  IS-7

The turret on the ST-1 had better be huge so it can hold huge shells (152mm, anyone?).  I'm hoping for some X-Box-huge guns.

The IS-8 looks amazing, the ST-1...eh, I don't like how it looks. Would still play them both to hell and back.

the IS-8 is going to replace the IS-4 at Tier 9 for the IS-7 line while the IS-4 moves to tier 10 that line will have the ST-1 as it's tier 9 while the "Object 252"/IS-6 will become a Prem Gold Tier 8 heavy tank.


KV ---> T-150 ---> KV-3 ---> KV-4 ---> ST-1 ---> IS-4

KV ---> KV-1S ---> IS-1/2 ---> IS-3 ---> IS-8 ---> IS-7

Object 252(IS-6) = Tier 8 Gold Tank

I guess it's okay for WG to hodgepodge the T-54 with newer parts but they're keeping the T-10 IS-8 more historical. Fumph! Soviet bias only extends to mediums...

it was called the IS-10 guess you can call it the IS-8 no idea all i know is im reading it was called the IS-10 then renamed to T-10

Technically, the T-10 was the IS 8, 9 and 10.  Each one was just a stage in the development of the tank and like you said, was renamed after Stalin's death.

I think both these new tanks look great!
