I've had two victories in the last hour and haven't seen 5x exp awarded yet. I was under the assumption that the special had already started. So what's up??

Obviously, the time posting has confused a lot of people. This is a North American site, why don't you just post it as EST, that way everybody knows exactly when it starts. I appreciate the military-theme of going with a 24-hour clock, but I'd bet alot of the people on this site are high school or college kids and have no clue as to a 24-hour clock.
I started playing around 11 p.m. (EST) on Thursday, Feb. 16 and played on through 2 a.m. Feb. 17, apparently I must have screwed myself on getting the 5x exp.
Even now, my last post says it was at today at 3:59 p.m. Obviously, now it's still only 10:30 a.m. (EST). No wonder nobody has a clue as to time.

I don't want to sound ungrateful for the specials, they are great at taking away the grind of tech trees, but it is frustrating to miss out.

You know the xp bonus is great but the lack of the bonus credit event is getting to look like a rip off to me.  The first year all events had bonus credits, then it went missing and they sead it was an update problem they were working on. Credits are the back bone of your buying power, personally I am sure it was removed on purpose to increase gold sales.  Even thought they say that was not true. I buy my share of gold to support the game now it is time for them to stop trying to be cheap  and put back what was part of the game in the first place. I really like the game with updates and new addons  as time goes on, but that does not include the developers taking out parts of the games bonuses just to line there pockets... and if they are telling the truth about this, then I think it has been long enough for them to fix this......

I am pretty sure there are many gold buyers that feel the same way, and may stop buying gold because of this........... thanks for reading...

Nice event but regarding the time it seems that (and I'm in EST zone) if you played your tank after 7pm last night and got 2x bonus you lost your 5x bonus that kicked in at 6:30am EST time. Both tanks that I played last evening through the night just got regular win, where I switched and played one that I didn't touch for a day I got 5x xp bonus on first win. Sucks in a way if I knew that's how it's going to be I'd stay away till this morning. I was under impression that regardless if you played last night/before the event starts once it kicks in you get 5x bonus.
Too bad.

An update, I did get the bonus on two of my vehicles, but still not the two others? A glitch maybe?? I'll keep playing and see if it eventually works . . .

Awesome!  Now hopefully the gold from last week's company tank event will arrive so I can buy some garage slots to take advantage of the 50% discounts! woot!  If not I may have to break down and sell my tetrarch or T-127, since I never drive them anyways...

I had no idea UTC was 24 hour only. Nobody uses it here on account of it being for a time halfway across the world from anywhere near the NA server.
So now I find out that WG, once again, goes with making it so that the bonuses start in the middle of the server period. Instead of when the server ticks over. In fact, it starts almost exactly halfway through the server period...
Call me crazy, but it seems a bad idea to have specials in a way that encourages people to not play for a while.
(Yes, I lost XP. Yes, I'm kinda pissed since I don't buy premium.)

While I agree that it would make sense to start the special when the daily doubles roll over... I don't really see this preventing anyone from playing.  Maybe if you want to save those 5x games you can choose one tank to play rather than playing all of your daily doubles right away, but you still get a 2x xp game, if you play more than 4 games total you're ahead on xp vs waiting.  Dunno.
