Hello Fellow Oceania Players.
Due to the delays in Clan Wars prime time coming to Oceania, most of our nights in WoT consists of running platoons with our clan mates, and entering the occasional Company Battle if there are enough Companies online at the time.

Whilst we are awaiting for CW, AAD suggests setting up an unofficial Oceania Company Night(s) during the week for Clans to put together their Companies and test out different tactics whilst training both Officer and Soldiers in team play.

ANZAC Armoured Division will beging to attempt running at least 1 or 2 Tank Companies each night as a trial to determine which nights we get the maxium attendance.
The Monthly Oceania Challenges are usually held on a Monday/Wednseday/Friday nights.
So a simple proposal would be to make Oceania Company Nights on Sunday/Tuesaday/Thursday nights from say 7 or 8pm AET onwards?

AAD have already opened a Channel with PANZACS and they also seem keen on the idea.
So we would appreciate some feedback from other Aussie/NZ Clan officers if they would also be interested in getting a company or two together.
Once we have some feedback on availability and timings, we can hopefully make Oceania Company Night a success.

Regards and good hunting,
Dawbs (AAD Deputy commander)

Sounds like a great idea. We only have 3 Aussie players in our clan so we'll only be able to top up understrength teams. I'm sure that's not a problem for anyone :Smile-playing:

AAD are continuing to run companies each night (depending on other companies in queue etc) and have found the Sunday evening/night time slot to be our most sucessful.  Last night for example AAD were able to get two full companies running plus with a few blokes in reserve.   If all other Aussie/NZ Clans out there are interested in getting a Company Battle Night running, please post your intent here.  The more Clans we get involved, the more succesful the night will be.  We can then add other nights during the week if demand dictates.

Regards,
Dawbs.

TDK are interested in doing this.  I have been running companies myself every night the last week, has been good fun.  We are an Aussie based clan as well.

Thanks for the interest Lizardking, We have made Sunday nights an offical Clan company night, but we are running at least one company every night anyway.  Still waiting to get some feedback from other Aussie based clans.  PANZACS have also expressed interest too.   Once we get some more feedback we can make an "official" Company Battle Night and hopefully get enough involved to run both Medium and Champion Companies.

Probably a good idea in the short term. Honestly, I cant see it being a long term "event" because there is nothing to gain out of it.

That being said, 1st Armoured will throw a couple of teams in the ring when we see enough companies up, Oceania clans or not.

AAD still run companies every night of the week, but sometimes it's still a struggle to get into battle.
For some reason our officers who start the companies make them hidden (invite only).
I belive this may be off putting for other clans who may be thinking of starting a company but then check the company list and see so few tank companies formed so dont bother.
Is this what occurs in other Clans?
If so, AAD will make an effort to keep Companies visible and hopefully entice other Aussie/NZ Clans to get involved!
We generally run a company between 6pm-9pm AEST. Will go longer if more companies were online.

Dawbacca (AAD Deputy Dcommander)

Yes, companies in Oceania time frames definitely need to be left open to encourage people to create more/join other companies.

We're recently been trialing blind inviting to get companies going once we have 4+ people with premium creating companies, and this has been somewhat successful in getting new people involved, but is surely making us unpopular as well.

The biggest hindrance to company battles working for our time zone that I've found over the last few months are:

  • Random players lack of knowledge about, and how to join, companies
  • Elitism amongst existing companies preventing new players getting a chance
  • Slow speed of getting games due to lack of companies (which is self feeding)
  • No material bonus to playing companies (maybe we could get 5% more xp/credits or cheaper repair/ammo costs to encourage people?))
  • Requirement for 4 companies in queue meaning we need 44+ people sitting on their hands (for up to 90 mins some nights) before the first battle even starts

SKNAT would be happy to assist in this, it's a good idea.

If their is an aussie company I am happy to jump in after 10pm most nights, the whole CW thing is not for me as there is no way I'm playing WOT in the morning! (my view comes from being involved before with clans in other US based games)

Not sure about the 90 minute wait? that must to be a joke surly, if its not then I can understand why its hard to get people into it, I get pissed when I wait more than 20 scs to play in a pub

You will find the best way to get into a consistent Company Battle is to join an Aussie/NZ Clan.
We have many players in our clan who arent into Clan Wars yet, but run company battles every night.
Our biggest hurdle, like others, is the lack of opposition resulting in long wait times.
If more aussie clans can get Companies running during evening, then those wait time should come down.

Stomp is currently surveying internal interest in clan battles as an alternative to CW, most probably on Sunday evenings although nothing yet has been decided. I'll link to this thread in our forum. However, what tiers are we talking about? Although we have sufficient top tier players we have also acquired a reasonable number of mid-tier players recently. That raises a question for all of us: would Oceanic clans as a group be better served by committing to, say, Champion battles rather than assuming Absolute as the default?

That said, lack of available opposition is why I personally gave up on companies ages ago but if we can get a more or less guaranteed battles then we can make this a goer. OTOH, if all I end up doing is dicking around for an hour only to find no-one is around to fight then I'll chuck CB in the bin again quick smart and I dare say others will too. Better pub battles than no battles.
