I am up all night playing WOT all the time. and I have noticed early in the mourning Pacific Standard Time a lot of Asian players are lodged in so naturally the game play dramatically changes when you are playing a different country. During this time players skills are better than average. you have to be good to win. First don't go for the flag until all the artillery is wiped out. The flag will be guarded heavily with usually a high level tank and some arty. Secondly don't use any USA vehicles they seem to get wiped out first and quickly. Be very strategic and if you can type any Asian language using a keyboard it would help greatly

Interesting observation. I will monitor it myself..

Wait, they have their own server don't they? Why would they be playing on the North American server? It just doesn't make sense. Oh, do you mind posting the specific time you are talking about? I'm interested if this is when I get on. Thanks

We've been having some Asians (Specifically Korea and China) sneaking over to the US
server. I do notice a gameplay change, significantly speed of the game. Asians are
a little more patient then American players. I think only China has a server right
now and the Koreans are waiting for theirs to pop up. I wonder if we're also seeing
Japanese also.

Most of these Asian players are Vietnamese, Koreans, Japanese, Indonesians, and Philliphinos.
List of clans that I know of:
Vietnamese :GVN, TTVN
Koreans: ROKA
Japanese: JPN
Indonesians: -K-, -GRD-, INDO
Philliphinos: Hmm, can't remember any but I can recognize them if I see them
They mostly play at UTC 08:00 to 12:00 if my time conversion is correct. Of them all I found Koreans and Vietnamese to be the most skilful on average.

How is this Asian? I never cap with arty still alive and I haven't seen the inside of an American tank since I was in a Lee back in beta (arty and td not withstanding). Now, as always, this isn't a hard rule - if I'm forced I wont hunt arty, such as in those instances where either I cap now or we loose the match, and there are good high tier US tanks, I just dont want to spend the grind to get to them. But I dont see that the Asian players have some innate superiority to their Western counterparts - its just basic strategy.

I have found that it's easier for me to win on 12AM - 4AM UTC. Somehow at these times I easily pull or help pull the team up for a win.
Much harder at about 7AM-3PM UTC, it's either I get tactically inept players, inept just with their own tanks or the other team is just that good.

I listed all Japanese clans : http://vezel.diaryno...07141800154046/
As far as I get to know, 30 or more clans exist. But, almost of them are small-scale.

I live in Australia, so maybe that is why i don't normally face the idiots of the idiots that are mentioned on the forums. What a pity.

some SE Asian players are deep campers(i can tell by their chat they are either vietnamese or Malay) that you feel really hopeless with them
beside that OP is right, quite a few of them been in Russian server and calculated move is Asian habit. they wont rush and will try intimate you into a trap or grind you down with micros.

I still think the OP is off base about what he calls 'Asian' strategy - I just say its common sense. But there may be a cultural difference that you've pointed out - I often complain that TDs - the mugger in the bushes - is so often played "like John Wayne charging up Mt. Suribachi". I suspect its also the American players who call campers "cowards" - which, calling anyone a coward in a computer game, is the height of stupidity. Maybe there is a sense of brash disregard for defense native to US players - which can translate into lemming rushes, or which can translate into aggressive pushes. Maybe theres also a degree of contempt for the defensive posture - it just grates on the American way of conducting warfare.

My experience is a platoon of these style playerrs cost you win after win because they camp in the back and contribute nothing til after the battle has been decided. I might add, if everyone agrees to do the same it is different, but they never speak English so you cant co-ordinate an attack or defense. Sorry, but blindly carrying out the same tactics every game no matter whether the situation warrants it or not is NOT good play; it is terrible play.

The problem is they never co-ordinate with anyone and refuse to adapt to the situation. When the fight is far ahead of them, they stay at the back contributing nothing. To me, good play means adapting your tactics to what is occurring on the battlefield. They do not. They sit there in defensive posture no matter what.

Correct me if I'm wrong but which of these people are American? Seems like they favor offense too. Defense is fine, but it must be conducted with offense as its goal.

It's certainly a far more passive and reactive style than what most Westerners (broad, general, categorization here) are familiar with. While it doesn't suit my particular tastes, I've learned quite a bit watching them play.
I see a somewhat similar analogy in comparing Western and Korean Terran players in Starcraft II (though it is difficult to compare an RTS and an arcade-tank-shooter). Koreans are more passive (in a very aggressive way, if that makes sense) and will "wait" until the very perfect moment before striking; whereas Western players are generally more aggressive in the traditional sense.
