iPancakes's Photo iPancakes Feb 28 2012

Alright... It's been stated that the ACL 135 will be put as premium SPG in the French Line

The name must be wrong. It's not an SPG, it's a TD:

Gun elevation is pretty good too:

Why are the SU-14 and the Object 212 boxes/school buses? Yet still do amazingly well?  It's arty, a box shape would probably give it more ammo capacity, it's not gonna duke it out close range :P

uhm.. gun positioned in the rear.. with the design, it haz a fine gun elevation

for the ACL, its positioned in the front and it appears that he'll have a TD's gun elevation
(dont compare the S-51 to this even if its gun is at the front)

@Lemmy:
*sees the pic*
oooooh... that's quite convincing.

Remember kids, inbreeding leads to degeneration.

Anyone see connection between those two images?

At first I swore that was the ARL with the lol turret. Tracking that monstrous beast looks easy with the tracks sticking out like that. It's possible, depends what tier though.
Has a similar look to the British Tortoise TD.

It's an assault gun, so it'll be a TD in game. They just made a mistake in the tree, all three "spg's" are in fact TD : the UE/57mm, the R35 AntiChar and this ACL135. On the other hand, the B2 10.5cm LeFH is written to be a TD while it's an SPG. Also, the P40 can hardly be called a heavy, the FCM 2C Bis is a TD like a KV2 is, the rocket-launcher Hotchkiss 28/32 nobody knows what it'll be or if it will even be implemented in the game.

Hope that clears it up :)

"Self-Propelled Gun" doesn't just mean it is an artillery. It can also refer to tank destroyers, however, tank destroyers are much known for Self-Propelled Guns, while artilleries should be known as Self-Propelled Artillery.

Take a look at this one:

Take a look at the premium tank "Jagdtiger mit 88 L/71" it's listed as "Self-Propelled Gun" while it's a tank destroyer.

Also, if you noticed, the whole tank destroyer line has no "Self-Propelled Gun" label, but on top, it has the label "Tank Destroyers", also on the other hand, the artilleries have the label "Self-Propelled Gun". I really don't know the reason behind this, but I'll give it a big facepalm.

So basically, the term "Self-Propelled Gun" may refer to artilleries, but to tank destroyers commonly. I would rather use the term "Self-Propelled Artillery".

Hope I clarified.
